Hey guys.

I wish to create a new eCommerce store.

I have two sites that would be competing against me in the same niche that stand out. Even though their site designs are quite basic html sites, nothing fancy.

The store itself will sell physical products that will be delivered. It's not dropshipping in the conventional sense of the word but I do outsource the products to a company who do most of the work for me, they are UK based and I've used them for over two years on eBay with 100% positive feedback.

as far as keywords go they are as follows.

1st keyword - medium comp - 720 per month
2nd keyword - low comp - 390 per month

suggested keyword ideas are
1st - medium comp - 140
2nd - medium comp - 140
3rd - medium comp - 91

Total of 1481 searched for all 5 keywords per month.

I need advice on how quickly I would be able to rank on page 1 of Google and what steps I would need to take to make it happen ( bare in mind I have hardly any budget )

I can beat the other sites on price, delivery and stock, so I don't think once there the other two will really be able to compete with me in that regard.

Any advice you can give would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

advertise your site and products with funny videos on youtube. For example, youtube: vat19. Pretty smart advertising. Other than that, im not expert at ranking and stuff xD

Unfortunately the product I sell cannot really be advertised in that way. It's more of a product for collectors. But you're right vat19 do some great advertising.

That search volume is hardly anything, so ranking should be pretty easy. As to how to do that, read the forum.

I did a search for ranking stores and eCommerce but never really found any dedicated threads or the ones I found were quite old.

Daziam,
What are you using for eccomerce. I've a high ranking eccomerce site in a very competative market but it involved a ton of work. I have found that you must use good content, and use Google Webtools to track any errors that may occur on your site. Eccomerce sites have a nack of producing duplicate "everything". Hahaa...

I was planning on using WooCommerce for the store itself. The products I sell are physical but "made to order". Although it's in a very popular niche the sub niche I'm in only has around 1,500 global searches over all keywords. There is an Exact Match Domain I could get that has 390 searches per month or I could go with a brand name. Not sure which would be easier to rank.
