I have a couple of domains i completely forgot about with godaddy as i used 1&1 and porkbun regularly now, and i have about 4 websites that have been deactivated and i can't purchase back yet that are worth allegedly $2k to $4k each, how do i go about buying them back before anyone else does and is there a way i can avoid paying the ridiculous prices they are asking for?

Cheers guys <3

Legally, they're not yours anymore. Registrars give you a grace period after they expire - I believe 45 days. Once they're dropped, that's pretty much it. The good news is if no one buys it, you can get them back if they're released. This happened to me, but I really can't remember how long that period is.

In the future, use an email you regularly check with your registrar. You can unsubscribe to their sales emails, but will get alerts when your domains are about to expire.

Thanks man, i figured as such, my ADHD got the better of me and i thought i had already set up auto renew xD woops

If you had them with godaddy, I also suggest not contacting them at all about this, they are absolute assholes when it comes to this kind of things, they will manually handreg domains just to fuck with you. They even have scripts running on their own registration platform that auto-regs any domains which might be worth a small fortune.
