Newbie members replying to sales threads with discount code requests to increase their post count.
Posts are counted on the marketplace section, marketplace posting should be the same as posting in the BlackHat Lounge (Not counted) to patch this exploit

sample:
https://www.blackhatworld.com/members/uroperon.1559716/#latest-activity

same for 'samples' requests.
ive also seen some new member post [ samples please 10-20x after joining
mods would probably say it breaks no rules. but i hear ya ,

yes that's right they don't break any rules but it just makes it too easy to pump his post count to 100 he even doesn't have to think about what he should be posting :/

no harm in it, they'll dip after they try a service or two too though... i agree with muting/disavowing the posts though; what about even a spam filter?

Technically, it doesn't. You have to consider that some people would join, they're new, don't know the rules but want to test a bunch of services before they buy from someone - this is common practice online and offline.

At the same time, we're very much aware of this being exploited for PCI and if someone gets reported for doing it excessively and it is suspicious, we do investigate it.

The problem is my fat fingers get tired of sending discounts to useless accounts that are not going to use it

If there was functionality to see when a PM was opened it would give an indicator to people sending these as to who is genuine and who is doing PCI.
This would help save your little fat fingers :)

@IG Professor I agree with your point. Some of them not even proceeding to the free review copies offered to them.

As you said their only aim to reach 100 posts.

I don't know if he/she is not even ready to take service , why they are asking for it.

This might help in someway. But still my doubt is how to know whether they are genuine or doing it only for post count.

Why because even though we are getting message read notifications, the post count seekers too might do it na?

The lazy and stupid ones just ask for samples etc and don't read PMs when they're just PCI.

Those newbie accounts could also be of those marketplace sellers who are trying to bump their sales thread to the home page more often.
There's no way to know without any substantial evidence.

And paradoxically, those "discount" are meant to perma-pump the threads so basically they are doing a public service for the marketplace sellers :p

This is like a win-win wheel.

Speaking long-term, there are plans to resolve the issue of members inflating their post count in sales threads with the release of Marketplace 2.0, as I believe there will be another way for members to request discounts without posting in the threads themselves.

For the meantime, please report members when they are inflating their post count in sales threads, especially if you contact them and receive no response. It's a very easy thing for staff to check and take action on. And eventually, if you keep reporting them and they keep getting banned, then they might give up.
