Hi guys, sorry about my English, I would like to ask you something. I have an amazon affiliate site that I have created with woocommerce plugin in wordpress. The structure of the site is:
I have a page named shop, and inside there I have categories, and inside categories products.
Example: mainSite/shop/category1/product1 and goes on...
Inside product1 I have description, affiliate link, images e.t.c.
I have also another page named buying guides. Example mainSite/buyingGuides
And then goes like this: mainSite/buyingGuides/category1-BuyingGuide
Inside this, I have a buying guide for category1 products with a link in mainSite/shop/category1/.

Do you think that this structure is ok? Can I improve it somehow? Thanks!

Always make sure that 2 pages don't end up being duplicates of same topic. This will lead to keyword cannibalization. The structure is fine if the buying guide covers multiple products, otherwise you can add product description within the same page. Moreover, I'd prefer product reviews instead of product description. Because description can be added within the list if it's not too long.

For example, if the entire article becomes 2000 words or something, then you can increase it up to 5000 by adding multiple products. This can be sorted with a contents add-on in the beginning. I've seen a few amazon sites using this format and are successful. Just define the purpose of each page properly and you'll understand if it's good enough. I generally make categories based on search keywords.

Thanks for your answer. My initial thought was to rank the product pages easier in this way. But the truth is that I can create longer posts with your approach.
