Great share man
but I still can't figure it out
Why people choose amazon instead of others like aliexpress?
I know Amazon is big, but they pay very low affiliate commission

I like Amazon because my users like Amazon. It converts better in my opinion. I also can get great KWs for Amazon selling incredible products which does the work for me.

Have you tried using EasyAzon plugin to monetize international traffic? I have been wanting to use it, but I do not know whether that would be against amazon's TOS.

This is an awesome tuto. Thumbs up for this. I understand some stuffs better now.
Thanks a lot! :)
I have a question : Do you know a way 100% sure to index web 2.0 ?
Thanks again.

Nothin to add here, just wanted to say a huge thank you for an incredibly helpful post on SEO.

Amazon is definitely huge right now. I think most of my orders are Amazon related in on way or another.

Top guide, it's really tempting to pick a niche and build a mini empire within it!

Something about this thread just doesnt seem to add up for me.

Do you have any proof to back any of your claims up?

I am scaling the profit up as quickly as possible but am already making $100 a day after having the site up under a month.

You say you have a new site that has been online for under a month that is making $100 a day with Amazon, so thats around $3000 per month. For this example lets say you are on the higher rate of 8% commission, that would mean you would have to be pushing around $37,500 worth of sales to Amazon per month. I know you said you aim for items that cost $100 plus but to make it easy lets just say the items you are selling are $100 exactly. That is 375 conversions per month. Lets say your conversion rate on Amazon is 5%, that would mean you are pushing around 7,500 people to Amazon per month. Lets say your web site has a 20% CTR, that would mean your website is pulling around 37,500 people from search engines on a web site that is less than 1 month old?

To me that seems pretty suspicious to me.

I then decided to try Amazon on the same site. My little $50 doubled to $100 overnight. I still had adsence ads on the site, but made a killing with small products and my traffic.

Again, this seems suspicious to me, you have a site that is optimised for adsense clicks, not amazon yet adding a few Amazon links suddenly doubles the sites income while not effecting the income of adsense at all?

1. I revealed my three personal KW guys (One of whom just started selling KWs)

Hey Ste!

I reviewed a KW someone else bought and asked me to take a look at in PM.

Also, I think Ste may have missed this bit of one of your posts where you again confirmed he was one of your "three personal KW guys" before you changed your story as he called BS. So that is twice you lied about having personally used his keywords until he called you out on it....

Hi lightningblitz,

Quick question I would like some clarification on, in your thread "anchor text doesn't matter" you talked about using strictly branded/naked url's and hitting the tier 1 with the anchor which will carry over to the moneysite but in this thread you state:

After I have my foundation I check to see where I rank so far. I then target a single KW at a time. I start with the KW closest to number one. I build a handful of Web 2.0s (I have posted several times how I build web 2.0s and target long tail KWs with them) pointing to each page. These Web 2.0s will target LSI or partial match anchors and not my exact match KW.

My interpation of this is that your hitting your amazon site "directly" with partial match keywords. Is there any reason why you're not using the strategy outlined in the "anchor text doesn't matter" thread with your amazon sites?

Very informative thread. I'm also going to start this. Loved this thread. Mixed of information as well as some drama lol.

Very informative thread. Just when I was looking to start some Amazon affiliate sites. Thanks

This is a very great guide. I know what to do because you have made a daily seo guide to, even the anchor text guide.

ONCE AGAIN : THANK YOU!

I just want to say "thank you, LB." thanks for your advice, my site bounce to page 1 now.

I found a good expired domain and going to follow your guide to build another amazon site. You said in the guide: "That was an eye opener for me personally. After a couple hick ups I decided to sell off a few websites which were ad based, liquidate my PBN pointing to the largest site and pump my resources into a new Amazon site which is making me $100 a day in under a month."

For this site, do you rank main keywords or many long-tail keywords to top 3 under a month? Can you please give me few suggestion on how to rank so fast? It's because of the expired domain and easy keywords?

Thanks for posting this, OP. I'm about to start doing amazon affiliate but SEO is just too hard for me. So I'll buy a keyword from ste fishkin and use some SEO services from BHW. I've used SEO services in the past and I had a bad experience with them but I'll give it another shot.

Thanks for the tip on keyword buying. I've already been eyeing a couple of keyword sellers here and this has reinforced some ideas I've been having on Amazon Affiliates.

great guide lightningblitz. But one thing, Amazon associates can suspend your account if you break Tos and you are not eligible to re-apply.

I like Amazon because my users like Amazon. It converts better in my opinion.
Definitely true, especially if you look at the products sold you didn't advertise at all.

Shop XYZ: User clicks affiliate link, user doesn't buy product, user closes browser window and keeps searching. No sale.
Amazon: User clicks affiliate link, user doesn't buy product, user remembers he wanted to buy ABC and buys it. Sale.

It's not always like this, but very often. While these random sales are rarely high price/commission products, they sum up.

Do you recommend an authority site with different reviews or a small one targeting one sub niche?

An Amazon ban is closing your account. You can apply as many times as you want so it is no big deal. The pain is if you get banned you need to replace ALL of your affiliate links. This makes it a huge pain in the butt to completely change up your website. For that reason alone I suggest you be careful and follow my advice.

Really digging your posts man, thanks again for putting in the effort to share—I really appreciate it. I noticed the above quote in your post, and thought I might try and lend a helping hand.

TL;DR: Search and replace functions on the database can usually alleviate this issue—and for those not comfortable with SQL, there is a wordpress plugin called 'Better Search and Replace'.

I'll explain through example:

I recently began a project to nurture in down time, and got an expired domain with a decent backlink profile that was niche-relevant. I developed about 8000 words of content, laced with affiliate links. I used a redirection manager, as many choose to do, so that my links were all mydomain.com/tracking-phrase/my-custom-offer-text/ in format.

Well, it wasn't a week later that I found the perfect expired domain for my cause, and I wanted to shift all the content over to the new domain and let it chill for awhile. I exported the database from the existing site, imported into the new site, and then (out of curiosity) used that above-mentioned WP plugin. I did a search and replace for 'mydomain.com/tracking-phrase/' which got replaced with 'mynewdomain/my-new-tracking-phrase/'. It's a little quirky if you are using plugins that create their own database tables, but it makes such actions possible.

Search and Replace is a powerful concept when working on any project!

I disagree with the above post. When Amazon bans your account, they clearly state "all future accounts you open with us will be closed".
