I started using Adsterra a couple of days ago. First I saw some positive reviews, and there were also people who said it had malware redirects. I still decided to try it out for myself.

Yes, Adsterra might pay a bit better but it's really NOT worth it. Just a day after placing BANNER ads, I got users complaining they were randomly redirected to random sites, who knows which ones, upon just visiting website, and not clicking on anything.

For anyone using this network, think twice or you might ruin your site & google rankings with it.

Contacted their support, they said something "everything is fine now, don't worry" LOL.

After I did some of research, I saw people years ago complaining about the same problem, and Adsterra still doesn't have a proper solution. Or maybe they don't want to find it, since they profit from such offers, I have no idea.
At least they could warn their publishers that this could happen, so that it doesn't do harm to their websites.

This is scary unprofessional @AdsterraNetwork

Hey, Annabelle_!

The thing is, this is an everlasting battle with "dirty" advertisers. While we upgrade our defences, they find out new methods for cloaking redirects in their ads. Even here, look: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/cloaking-help.1338615/#post-14487808

But we can become better with your help! When you contact support, we launch an internal investigation on the issue, comb out that particular advertiser and ban him.

Sorry for the negative experience, but a big thank you for contacting our managers about this issue!

It looks like this problem is only present on your network
and your ads also slow down websites immensely

If you want ads on your website -> Google Adsense
If you want to promote product / service -> Google, Facebook, Snapchat etc
No other ****** network. Bot traffic, stupid ad redirects, porn, no payout, shady stupid stuff and billion other things.
There is a reason why you wait for approval for google adsense. ITS WORTH IT.
Better give a better try for approval and give your best then going with quick and easy join at that stup** networks.
And on top of that no other network can beat CPM rates of Adsense.
Most of them is getting you 1 to 1.5/2$ CPM for Tier 1 traffic. Adsense for tier 1 is 2-4$.
LONG RUN -> google, fb etc
SHORT TERM -> Adstera, hilltopads, etc etc etc ( not recommended )

That is a ridiculous statement to make.

Malware is an issue across most networks - especially tier 2-3 networks like Adsterra.

please find me other threads in this forum that criticize other networks about malware presence in their ads :)

This post was not about malware. It is not an issue for our network anymore. Sometimes people mistake aggresive software ads for malicious activity, but those ads can be turned off when requesting ad codes.

Annabelle_, the topic starter, spoke about redirects. While some ad networks sell those as an ad format, we do not. But some of the advertisers still try to use redirects by tweaking the ad codes, and sometimes it works. That's when people actually get redirected to other websites. And we are actually thankful that people raise those issues — we penalize or even ban those advertisers and make our platform better.

Adsense doesn't work with adult traffic that I have.

Yeah i remember when i was using them, redirects and overlays everywhere and you cant use them for legit sites not even porn sites. They keep those ads cuz they make a ton of money.

Getting adsense approval is very difficult.

Absolutely, they run very bad ads. while earning 1-2 dollars per day by day, starting 3 days ago. No payment is made to the customer about the problem. Then I looked at the ads, when I switch to ads, you are redirected to google.

they don't apologize in any way and if you don't notice, your earnings will decrease in this way. I would not recommend anyone to use this platform.

I’ve had this happen to me but with another network (adult niche)

Are there any good paying ad platforms for adult content sites?

had the same thing, added adsterra and suddenly people started complaining about sneaky redirects and malware.
got banned from some subreddits for posting the links there and you guys know how bitchy people on reddit are lol
so instantly removed that crappy adsterra ads and not going to use them again on any site.
you better think twice before using adsterra.

I was thinking on joining them long time ago glad that I didn’t

That's correct stay away from Adsterra. One of my websites got hit due to their malware injecting methods. I have AVG Premium and everytime I used to check one of my websites a popup alert came on screen. I wouldn't recommend to use this platform at all.
Best regards.

I am using adstera on a blog that us unfortunately not eligible for adsense now. And not getting any problem. I have selected native ads excluding erotic ads. And only some articles from different sites and blogs are shown on the ad space.

BUT I must say CPC and Cpm rates are too low.
