Well -
https://www.quora.com/Why-nobody-us...-anymore-Whats-wrong-with-this-payment-system
I'm quoting:
"We tried to use Moneybookers / Skrill as a merchant so that our customers could pay for our services.
We have a really simple business model and we are currently using many different payment options.
As a merchant, to have a Moneybookers payment page on your website that accept credit cards, here what you have to do:
- register for a Moneybookers business account
- wait for approval (count a few days). You will have to send BY FAX!!:
- a copy of your passport
- utility bills
- your company's registration document
- the application form
- the signed contract
- once (if) you get approved, this will only allow you to create a payment page where your customer will have to signup for a Moneybookers account to pay you.
Imagine your customers having to:
- create a Moneybookers account (with the long form about their social security number and date of birth... etc).
- upload funds to their account
- get your Moneybookers account email address where they can send money.
- cross their finger that the transaction will not get frozen for further verification. It is a common practice for Moneybookers to freeze accounts for security purpose (especially new accounts).
(I hope you are not tired, I am really not finished).
For the integration, Moneybookers does not offer a Sandbox or a test account. You have to:
- create a merchant account and a customer account
- send an email to Moneybookers and asking them to convert these 2 accounts to "test accounts".
- wait for the answer (count a few days. I had to send 2 emails and wait for 4 days).
- once you get the answer, the test accounts will be valid for 24 hours only before being convert to live accounts (I swear this one is true). So you should hurry up for the tests.
- Once your integration is done, you have to apply for an "instant credit/debit card payment processing services". You have to send a request and wait for the application email.
- You will have to answer a questionary that is exactly the same as the one for the initial Merchant account.
- Moneybookers is promising you an answer within 72 hours but in our case, it took 2 weeks.
- If you are not approved, you will not get an explanation. Just a 2 lines email saying that they don't want to work with you. Therefor, all these efforts were in vain.
- If you are approved, you will have the same power as a person who spent a couple of hours setting up a Paypal merchant account. I would even say that you would have MUCH less possibilities.
So the real question should be "why a merchant, in his sane mind, would be crazy enough to use Moneybookers/Skrill" ?"
Anybody wanna tell me how Paypal sucks again?
