Adding another language to a wordpress blog

Hello!

I have got a niche blog in Polish.
Recently, I started thinking about translating it into other languages, such as German, Czech, Portuguese, etc.

How would you implement another language?

We would translate them on our own by paying translators.
We do not use any black hat techniques on the blog.

I do not want the blog to work slower, so that is an essential factor for me.

Would you recommend multi-site, any plugin, or how would you approach that problem?
The easier it would be to add a translated article, the better.

Thanks for all recommendations, tutorials, and videos that you can recommend.

WPML plugin + Deepl. There are other cheaper alternatives to WPML, but Deepl have no rival on the market right now.

Why would you choose WPML Plugin over multisite?

Also, I forgot to mention - my site is hosted on a ".pl" domain. How would you approach that? Should I ignore the domain or buy another one? Can I "connect" it somehow then to the same WordPress backend? How?

Multisite is a much complicated way than WPML (also complicated, but not at that level), in my opinion. If the .com/net are available, you should buy them, too, but the .pl is good enough. For the EN version of your site, you can have something like yoursite.pl/en/ - content-.

Multisite is best for speed. WPMLis a page speed nightmare. If you go for easy I would use Translatepress and link it with google api. Or you can translate everything manually but that is a lot of work if it is a large site. If you are going to translate everything yourself I would just take Polylang, this is a much lighter plugin than WPML
