This is a rant :D

I'm sick of all those people glazing adblockers and talking about how there are too much ads on the internet.

Yes, they're right, there are too much ads on the internet, but they are the issue!

They wan't to use the website for free, which wastes server ressources and makes the owners compensate it by increasing the ads amount. Yes, some website owners are scummy and would increase ads nonetheless, but then their traffic would drop. The owners would have to find delicate the line between traffic and ad revenue.

The free internet, can only survive with ads. Do they think owners would pay $$$ server costs & create content & waste time for free?

And you now what the result is? The people, who don't have adblockers suffer, because they need to compensate for the adblockers. Small quality websites have to close. Websites get bloated.

(P.S I'm also not a fan, how the adblocks block analytics.)

Adblockers performance is worse than ever. I don't use it for this reason.

This is why you use ublock origin and judiciously turn it off for based sites like BHW

I agree, too much freeloaders out there. Selling an actual paid service is a nightmare, everyone wants a free (in depth) audit. What you said OP, everyone wants websites and videos without you earning ad revenue even. And it gets even worse, people complaining that I don't help them for free one on one in dm/messenger on facebook, where I search for clients. People almost spitting at me for not posting free content. But like, literally free.

I only care about myself when I'm standing against huge cooperations and their websites.

I'd have no problem subscribing to something like Wikipedia if they put a paywall up for whatever reason, but I don't care about some fucking holiday trip ad I have zero interest in. I can plan my own holidays thank you very much. Honestly though, if ads were 100% accurate in targeting my tastes I might be willing to turn off that adblock...

Totally agree—adblockers are a double-edged sword hurting the free web ecosystem!

It really depends on the site - if all sites had the same quality of ads as BHW which are relevant to the users I don't think people would use adblockers. Some sites also have way too much ads, popups and other annoying features.

Yes, they make the free web worse, but they will always exist.
