AdBlock Just changed is policy, interesting.

Adblock plugin just changed the rules. Now theres a Acceptable Ads program, and as they say: "Acceptable Ads defines strict guidelines to identify non-annoying ads, which AdBlock now shows by default. This way, you can help support your favorite websites".

I have Adsense Websites so i'm cool with this. But will Adsense be an "acceptable ad program?"

Yeah, I don't care. There still a option to block all haha I also don't work with ads at all so I don't really have an opinion on this

I would think so. I understand popup blocking as that is annoying as hell but ad blockers for in page ads has always been ridiculous. I genuinely despite ad blocking why should I publish content for free!?

Fwiw I think it's probably better to serve local images linking out to a myriad of offers anyway. One of my projects... A way down the list

No one is forcing to. You can block people who don't want to see ads on your site. You can also do membership sites if your content is not crappy.

i'm not sure what's the fuss here and in this thread too: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...en-sold-companies-can-pay-show-their-ads.html, the "Acceptable Ads" program is already in the addon for quite some time now, you can either opt in or opt out, if you choose to opt out obviously you don't see any ads, unless they force you to opt in in the future, i don't really see how this would mean any change and there are always other addons what you can use to block ads, adblock isn't the only one, it just happens to be the market leader

Yeah well I get that and really I was just thinking out loud. I only show ads as an aside so it affects me less than some but I look from the perspective that if you don't like what's on the page then don't go there at all, but ad blockers don't work that way.

So yeah, I just don't like them
