Ad account disabled without clear reason – what next?

Do both at the same time I guess. If we can get back a free acc, why not? And use a new fresh one to avoid wasting time.
 
Facebook has been scanning a lot of accounts these past few days, so I don't think appealing is very feasible.

I'd suggest to appeal first and if the facebook support can't help you then you can move on and create a new account.
