So i got the Password and username of an Instagram account and decided to change everything on there,so now the owner says that he will sue me for that. I am not sure if anything will happen if he tries but i wanted to know can anything happen? I mean i didnt hack him i got the stuff from him and just changed it right?

He says he 'got' them, so I am assuming he means he cracked it. But, OP, I don't think he can sue you for that.

If he cracked it - probably depending where you are living but this is a serious crime and sure he can bring you to court for that.
But he did say he got it from him ......

OP, you did not have authority from the account holder, so it could be classed as hacking.

Did you attempt to buy the account from him? Why did he share login details with you?

If he gave the account to you to manage it while he was away and you feel you haven't done anything wrong and have been true to any agreement then just hand the account over to him, apologise for not meeting his requirements like a gentleman and step away.

Yes, bad things can heppen if you take someone else's property.
That is his account.
That makes it his property.
Both civil and criminal issues could arise from taking someone else's property.
