If you’re using wordpress, then it should autosave and it will ask if you want to restore when you log back in.

OP talks about his post on BHW not WP.
For me it saves automatically. I just tried on this thread, and after reopening the url, my post is still there at the bottom.

As covered above it auto-saves a couple of times a min. unless you're using some ad-blockers where you'll see a big warning across the top of the screen explaining this.
If you visit the thread you were on then it will appear in the reply box at the bottom of the page.
