So I do digital "art", specifically smudging. Started my Insta/Twitter page in May when I had free time because of the lockdown. Didn't gain much traction, but of late I'm getting a lot of followers.

Now I'm from South Africa and charge a relatively low fee (about $20) for my demography and the quality I provide. I have from the onset opted for upfront payment, and people generally don't (didn't) have an issue with this as I've got all authentic details.

Occasionally I put up ads and the conversion rate is piss poor, out of 20-30 inquiries only 2-3 will eventually convert.

What am I doing wrong? Could it be a matter of trust? For the low fee (?) I charge I don't want to take deposits and hassles of multiple payments.

10% conversion rate sounds OK to me...

You will not convert everyone. Whats the numbers like before the inquiries?

Generally people who enquire without ads convert higher than the ads people, because I'd assume they know me or have heard/seen me from a friend.

I just feel like ad conversion is extremely low, I must be doing something wrong, and I also choose strategic dates.
