Hi there,
I was thinking whether there's an acceptable page size for SEO. In my case it's huge images but I'm wondering if there's an average page size I should go for?

Well you want page speed to be fast as possible so you don't want dozens of huge images. Make sure you optimize them. I use optimizilla.com, usually compresses them about 80%. I try to keep my pages around 1MB, preferably lower.

Competitive parity changes from niche to niche but here is a little sample data:

Average Factor Measures for Page 1 Results on Google

SEARCH: Fleece Jackets

# of matches in HTML source: 1100 matches
# of KB of BODY tag contents: 299 KB of content
# of images: 112 images
# of words: 1725 words

SEARCH: SEO tips 2016

# of matches in HTML source: 429 matches
# of KB of BODY tag contents: 102 KB of content
# of images: 51 images
# of words: 3470 words

SEARCH: Used Cars

# of matches in HTML source: 631 matches
# of KB of BODY tag contents: 82 KB of content
# of images: 23 images
# of words: 811 words

SEARCH: Casino

# of matches in HTML source: 211 matches
# of KB of BODY tag contents: 67 KB of content
# of images: 28 images
# of words: 956 words

So this data would suggest:

211-1100 matches in HTML source
67-299 KB of BODY tag content
811-3470 Words per page
23-112 images

but I suggest you measure your competition for your keywords.

Will videos also slow it down? Like embedding youtube?

Thank you that'll help a lot! When I saw the page sizes I thought straight away "screw loading that on mobile data" lol Then it got me thinking about SEO.
