It is futile to apply all the SEO techniques without having a good content. Here we are going to talk about how you can write a popular blog post. A good post is going to earn you hundreds of shares even before you apply all the onsite SEO techniques on your blog.

Understandable Content

Most popular blog posts use simple words. When writing your blog posts you should always remember you are communicating with normal people. One recommended way is to use short sentences as much as possible. Moreover, you should always ensure that you use the active voice. An active voice is where the subject comes before the action.

Now we are going to take two sentences.

Case one: John went to school.

Case two: To school, John went.

Case one refers to the active voice. Quality writers use the active voice to communicate their sentiments or share their ideas. Case two uses a passive voice which is a bad practice for quality blog writers.

The other thing that you should not forget when writing your articles is using short paragraphs. Avoid using complex words since they end up confusing instead of informing. Actually, people will not share what they do not understand themselves.

Use the Second Persona

There are generally three types of persona. There is the first persona which refers to I. Second persona that uses you to communicate. More to that there is the third persona which uses them or them. Using the second persona you make the reader feel included. This is because I am talking to you not them. It is just like we have gone for a drink and we are in a meeting and I am referring to you.

Do Research about the Niche You Want to Write on

The first thing to do when you want a popular blog post is to take a research niche that you like. Passion will push you further as you pursue our blog post. Basically, before you undertake any niche or blog post here are the steps that you should follow.

1. Undertake a demographic research. This includes learning the country that majority of your readers come from.

2. Use Google analytics or Semrush to view your most viewed content.

3. Build up what people like about your blog.

4.You should also look at your engagement metrics.

Forums like wordpress enabled by jetpack usually analyse your content. They are able to tell you the average time people spend to look at your popular blog.

You are able to know the page views that were there on a page.

You should also look at the behavior of page viewers. Different behaviors for customers will tell more about the blog post that you are writing on.

Bouncing readers- They are not keen on what you are writing on but are looking for something specific,

Repeating page views from same readers- This generally means that your clients are really happy with the content that you are writing and hence they are researching what you are talking about.

To check the behavior of your clients you should sign up to a Google analytics account where all this information is in the kept behavior section of your Google analytic account.

Engage your readers-

Google and other search engines really love forums. Forums will help you rise above in the search engines after a very short time. Forums are the success of famous websites like quora.com

Forums also make your article appear very large. Basically, before Google ranks a website it searches for three things. First, it usually searches for the number of keywords that you have used on your website in conjunction to what the reader searches. Large articles also rank on the front pages of Google this is because they tell Google that your article is more detailed. Forums make your website look rich in details since each person is able to contribute his or her ideas.

Most people make the mistake of telling people to comment below. This is because that does not generally work. You should end your article with a question that will make your readers feel the need to comment on your article or leave a thought. More to that you should always ensure that you reply to their comments. In fact, you should let the readers feel that they are part of the blog development.

Huge comments will be considered as part of the article by Google and hence you are likely to rank higher than your competitors.

Through sites like a quick sprout, you are able to know the behavior of your readers. This algorithm shows how people move to your website and to other competitor websites.

You should also ensure that many of your readers are subscribed to your site. This is because they are able to read your articles as the first people and hence increase organic traffic to your site

Writing Detailed Articles

You should not only write for idiomatic expressions. You should always make sure that you write an article that provides real value to the reader.

Your articles should be detailed and provide people with what they have not experienced before.

It is very easy to know the topics that people are not finding solutions to. Through keyword softwares like the bradcallen softwares, semrush, Google Adwords and others one is able to learn they keywords that people search and do not get solutions about. By this, I mean that fewer people have ventured into the niche or none at all. You can take this as an opportunity and quench their thirst for the keyword they are looking for.

From here you can take this keyword and create articles based on them. This will save the energy that you would have really struggled to get to create a popular blog post in your article.

More to that, you can make your articles look more detailed by adding statistics to your pages. The statistics can be in form of graphs and pie charts. More to that adding Images makes your article look more detailed and hence attract more readers

Another trick that will make your blog post popular is by checking your competitors' websites. In the comments section, people normally comment on issues that they do not understand. Take your time and solve the things that they do not feel satisfied with your competitors' websites. Through the chat forums you can add a link back to your website.

This part is so important. Very often we forget that our readers are people not just robots when doing SEO writing. One of my clients got 100 SEO posts outsourced, actually ranked, but wasn't converting because the content was shit.
