This is probable to happen even though in Europe they have biometric IDs as far as I know. And you can't fake the chip of the id.

would the chip even be possilbe to detect online? I know in usa legally they cant even check it in gov database(if im wrong corret me but i read that a while ago)

Yep! Common sense is always helpful. For less important things: a new business model might come up: verification offices.

He did use his real photo, which maybe fooled the security checks for fake AI photo

I think this just brought it closer to mainstream, 10years ago we already did verifications with someID.psd.. it will get crazy as soon as it will be easier for people to beat videoident (the real one, not the simple rotate your head and speak 4 numbers shit) like shown here:

KYC in my country is that you send money like 5 cents from your bank account with your name.

But I'm sure something like that won't work everywhere. So... Plenty of kyc abuse opportunity still.
