Last Friday I talked with Paul Bryant about one of my websites. The website gets good volume of targeted traffic but sales were quite low. I asked Paul for advice. He looked at my website and told me:

At very end of page you need a nice big clear CTA because the end of the page is a KEY part when someone may decide to click and buy. Lets assume someone has read all of your content on the page..... when they reach the bottom if your copy has done the job you intended they should be ready to click and buy right?

so we need to make it easy for them. At the end of the page just make sure the last CTA is nice and big and bold so people are clear what they should do next.

What I did?

This is a wordpress blog, comments are closed. You know wp prints "comments are closed" at the end of each page and post where comments widget is enabled. So just edit comments.php and remove the line that prints "comments are closed" and add your CTA there - it can be text and/or banner link, whatever you like. I added both a banner and text blow it.

I did it last Friday, and by today i see sales increase in 200%. Enjoy :)

Yeah you need to have the website optimized to convert, period. If you Google 20 steps to web conversion, you'll see a list of helpful steps to prepare your website to convert traffic into sales and leads.

Clever, will add this to my newly created niche blog :-)

Cheers op.

This is a pretty basic trick.

Make your site easy to navigate and it will increase your conversions a lot.

I thought this was commonsense. It looks terrible when you see comments are closed.

Just think.

Trust is a big factor when buying unknown products/ services online. When you see comments are closed that raises flags and unprofessionalism SPELLING<----

Your sales didnt increase they were always at your 200% you just had your customers scarded.

I always do that. It just makes the site look more professional. Also remove those pesky generic footer text\links as well and customize your sidebar widgets right.

This is a very basic trick which i guess mos of people here already know but also many new members are here, this is very useful for them. Nice share!

Also make sure you always have a CTA at the end of the post content, it should be common sense but I see so many people miss this. I find its the highest converting place to put an opt in form on a lot of websites.

Edit: Okay I see now you have it in replace of the comments, also make sure you have it after the comments if the blog has comments on it.

well that is a common knowledge but still it is good reminder.
Also I saw a case study where someone changed button color from red to green and also improved CTR by 200%

Nice tip... I'll be honest, I never knew this... and it increases by 200%? Wow.

Yeah, this is a common knowledge, but arent the simplest things the most powerful one? It made a change for me, so thought someone else on BHW could find it useful.

Another thing has just came into my mind, do you use responsive design? If yes, make sure you check how your site looks on different resolutions, and where your CTA are placed.

Great post, good to remind people that its not all about the traffic. Increasing CTR, conversion rate etc etc are often overlooked by some but are totally necessary.
