Hi everybody! I'm new here although I have lurked here on a couple of occasions and just posted a new introduction in that forums section.

I was curious on something that ocurred to me today at work. I have a seperate Google+ button to my homepage on a blank html page for a specific purpose. I set my canonical metatag to point the page at my homepage even though it's unrelated aside from the shared Google+ button because I need the plus button to juice the home page and read thats where Google pulls the plus button info from was the canonical metatag.

Will the blank page hurt the seo juice of my actual home page since the 2 pages dont really have any duplicate content aside from the button? Will the blank page hurt the seo'd home page since it has the canonical tag specifying its a duplicate or will Google just go straight through the canonical link without bothering to index the page at all (my hopes)?

    Thanks for any feedback!
