so i wanted to know: is there like a specific amount of words to be written in an article that would be good for seo? i have heard it's better to write over 1000 words at least in an article and short article could potentially lead to thin content penalization..

My question is: is it okay to write like 200-300 words in a post or even less than that?
like for instance: im thinking of creating a site about headache so i write a post about headache(200 words) and make sub posts for causes, effects, cure (200-300 words each) and inter link with the main post.. i think i would make the user experience better..

What do you guys think regarding this?

When it comes to content, especially for a headache-related keyword that's likely competitive, aim for a thousand words, at least.

This way, you can target enough keywords without it sounding unnatural or redundant while improving the reader/visitor experience.

Long-form copy usually ranks and converts best so aim for a thousand words and beyond.

I just posted a question about a monster 100k+ words page I've stubbed upon (3k words article + user comments) ranking #1. I can just assume the more content the better?

Anyway, following.

Length should correlate with value.

You see, content length, on its own, only contributes so much to ranking potential. Yes, as mentioned above, long-form content is great so long as it's providing ongoing value throughout. So long as it does, visitors will stay on the page, engage with the content, and perhaps read other posts on the site.

Visitor actions are assessed by Google's AI to determine the value, credibility, and ranking worthiness of a post.

So to answer your question, as long the content is providing value and not full of fluff-cluttered crap that causes high bounce rates, yes, the longer the article the more value you can provide which in turn improves rankability - not a real word but you understand.

am not completely sure about this.. But a google emplyee rejected this claim.. articles with more words rank higher.

For me its about how vistors spend on your site matters.

Say you have 1000 word article and user spends 3 mins on your site
You comp has 3000 words and user spends only 1 min.. google will rank your site higher.

Exactly this last one is what i thought, when i see a long post with tons of information, i feel like there are lots of unnecessary informations and have to skim past through some topics to find what i need or i may not even read that article thinking its kind of boring with unnecessary information, not what i need .. (my perspective and what i do lol, however i dont know what others think )

and if there's short article on a site with exact topic i want, for example like i said: i want to search for only treatments for headache, then find a post with only treatment for headache, it would look short and exactly what i need. (but still i would have symptoms, causes and etc as other individual posts and would insert a text link to interlink everyone of these on posts related to headache)

Technically speaking if you can answer the question in 200 words then you should do so rather than adding an extra 800 words of fluff.

But if you was just going to rank for the term "headache" then 200 isn't going to cut it based on what would already be on page 1 you would be better off trying to create some mega article with all possible questions & answers placed inside, link out to other resources to verify you claims.

Then focus on the different types, causes, effects, symptoms, treatment and so on. That's what will help you get the content to increase the length and hopefully make it more informative than trying to stuff and pad it.

With long content, you can rank for more long tail kw

I heard a study maybe here, a person got more traffic with kws that he was trying to optimize than his main kw

It will depend on your keyword. If your keyword is competitively one, definitely you should go with minimum 1500 words above. There is no use of making contents in 200-300 words. Also People always looks the matter of the content. I recommend you to go with more than 1000 words.

I suggest you to write min 1000 words for this topic, it will help users to stick to your site more and decrease your website bounce rate.

THINK LIKE GOOGLE

If more words is a ranking factor, everyone can achieve that
If every can do it easily then it cant be a ranking factor.

GOOOGLE HAS MOVED FAR MORE THAN WAT YOU GUYS THINK

Type apple computer you will get list of MAC books in the top search results. And you have not even used the word MAC here.

Artificial Intelligence.

Googles only focus is - to be bring best pages at the top for your query. That it is

You do know a MacBook is an "Apple Computer"

It is based on the competition of your niche, Analyze the competition and determine the user intent behind your keyword. Write the articles based on it.
