So I just saw a service where a dude was offering a black hat seo service.
Basically he would spam the fk out of the site with links. And that would get it ranked up fast?
Is this true?

And how long would it take for google to penalize the site?
And one more thing, does anyone offer this kind of service here on bhw?

I strongly advise against that. Mass spam links is a thing of the past. You can still spam your way to the top with decent links such as you can get from SAPE, but you cannot rank with thousands of profiles, comments, bookmarks, and the rest.

Spamming used to work for churn and burn but not for long term.How long, no one can determine exactly.

It worked long time ago, 4-5 years, with tool like xrummer, but he does not work anymore.
Focus on quality links.

I would be surprised if you rank by spamming links. Even if you did it wont be for long.

It's much better to spread the links out over time.

You want your link profile to look as natural as possible. Sure you can spam the links none stop BUT you risk getting a penalty and it all being for nothing.

At the end of the day it's your choice

Yeah, spam will fuck you over, and hard.

If you were to still use his service, I'd look at t0mmy's guide to parasites.
Even though it's old, it's still quite useful.

It still works in some niches however they are few and far apart, so in general I wouldn't bother with it, depending on your sites authority in the eyes of google you risk seeing the ban before the rank.

Catch up time to spam by google is varied. You may get your site banned in a week time of the spam or sometimes it can take upto 3 months. So it all depends on your ROI. And Yes, there are services on BHW to churn and burn.

A lot of those links might be devalued or worthless in the eyes of Google. These days it just isn't worth it for the risk of being penalized in the future. You can buy links, just don't buy them in mass. Quality over quantity is the key. You can still do black hat and be smart about it.

Take any money you were going to spend on shit links and spend it on good content that people will naturally link to.

If you are looking at profiting with a website for a short time, blasting your site with millions of links will help. But you can expect it to be a long-term money site. Quantity over quality will work for churn and burn sites only.
