A Porsche for $10?

Hi all. I wanted to hear you opinions, comments and suggestions for my project in the works.

Some of you might have heard about a German multi-millionaire who internet-raffled his 2 mil. house for e100 tickets. He offered tickets in net worth of 5 mil. which means that he earned an extra 3 mil. Some lucky person, however, won a 2 mil. mansion for only 100 euros.

My intention is to do something similar, with a $200k Porsche I have available (not important at this point). So my idea was to offer $10 tickets, heavily advertise via Social groups (mainly FB and Twitter) and place 100,000 of them in 60 days. After the first gig, we'd repeat the process over and over.

What do you think? Comments? Suggestions?

They have been doing this for years. I know a guy that got a Cadillac for a 10.00 raffle ticket back in the mid 70's.

Before you do it, make sure it is legal in your area.
 
Of course, it's nothing new, I just haven't seen that much (successful) raffle sites on the internet. And those offering high-priced goods are even more uncommon. I remember that this guy who raffled his mansion was all over the news.
 
I am from Germany and I can tell you that it is illegal here. Last time this method was done in spain with a house.

but it works :)

The guy was German, I'll try and find the website, but the house wasn't located in Germany. I can't remember where it was...

So basically, the website has to be located on an off-shore web host, whose laws support raffles...?

the guy is very clever. i dont believe that he doesnt make profit with it. but this is what he want to tell....

When you start something like that, how do you make it public? this is the biggest problem i think. you cant wait one year till you have enought to start the raffle. you have to collect the people in 3-5 month. this would be a good time range i think

Of course he makes profit. Selling a luxury villa to go feed the hungry and live in a cottage my a$$ :D
 
This is illegal in the UK but happens all the time in the USA but normally with houses and by estate agents!

An even better way to do this is to contact different high priced car dealers and present them with your idea and what you need from them and what you are offering (maybe protect the idea so they don't copy and run off).

After all millions of people visiting a site with my company's new car model would make me at least lower the price of the car or give it free!

Then do it offline? Cash is always better than money in your paypal... cuz then uncle sam won't ask you questions ;)

Just go to walmart and ask if you can put a stand out front to raffle off your house or whatever and everyone that buys a raffle ticket tell them that you are gonna donate a percentage to the homeless or some shit..
 
ive raffeled of a few cars ...ive never did anything over the internet tho ...i think it will be harder to get people to think its legit ...maybe you can get your local newspaper or news to do an articial and that will give you a boost
