A PC tech horror story.

I am a nice guy, and, for a while now, I have been fixing up my computer-illiterate friend's PCs for free.

Last week my girlfriend's friend asked me to clean up her computer. She said her computer was running impossibly slow and she desperately needed it fixed. So, being the nice guy that I am, said "hey no problem, why don't you give me a call sometime this week and you can drop it off".

So she calls me yesterday, but I told her my mom was in the hospital and I wouldn't be around all day, so she would have to wait. She said no problem, and wished my mom well.

I get up this morning and go for a walk down to quiznos to get some food. It's really nice out so I decide to opt for a little extra fresh air and exercise and take the scenic route home. I am gone from my home 1 hour tops.

When I get home, to my surprise, there is a headless PC sitting on my coffee table with a note attached to it reading something like: "Hi, no one was home, so I let myself in, thanks for agreeing to fix my computer blah blah blah".

Now this is where it get weird. I live in a scuzzy city with a high crime rate, so I always lock my doors when I leave my house. Knowing for sure that I locked my front door when I left, I immediately called my girlfriend asking her if she knew wtf was going on and how the hell her weird friend got into my home. It turns out, this crazy bitch CLIMBED 3 STORIES UP THE SIDE OF MY BUILDING, like F'CKING SPIDERMAN, and entered my home through the half-open window on my balcony!!

Needless to say, I am really pissed and I feel violated! How do I know what the hell she did while she was in my home alone? If she's crazy enough to enter my condo illegally when I am not home, then maybe shes crazy enough to stick my toothbrush up her ass or something! Why would she think that I would be ok with her breaking into my home? Why would she think that I would just fix her PC after she did this? What makes people do such stupid things?

But the real question is, what do I do about it?

Do I..

-Call the police and have her arrested?

-Throw her computer off the side of my balcony.

-Keep her her computer and use it for something IM related? ( I don't really want to be reminded of this experience daily tho)

-Fix her computer and give it back to her? (lol yea right)

Fix the computer (easy) and while delivering it have a SERIOUS talk with your girlffiend. And also either lock your windows, if your girlfriend can climb up. Crminals can to. If you trust her enough, give her a spare keys.

You are right tho, I should have closed and locked my window, I guess it was better her then some crack-head. Lesson learned.

lol shes NOT underage (but she is like 19 and not bad looking) so I may see what I can find. I'm not willing to be labeled a sex offender just for a little revenge.

So where you live, friend? And can i have details on how to safely break into your home? What you got inside?

Sounds like this girl is just obsessed with her computer and needs it working better, even if she has to break her neck doing it. Or she's just obsessed with the turn down you're giving her, she wants to win the battle of mr.tech guy avoiding her. Crazy ladies, gotta love em.

Anyway, I will end by saying, check your boxers for pepper spray or any other potential balls-burning agents.

Do the same to her but deliver her a comp with a trojan : ) ( Climb her fucking basement apartment {LOL} and deliver that biatch )

Do not fix the computer...tell her to call geek squad because u have no clue what is up with it but you think it was harmed by a trojan slut virus which u can not fix

well if you repair your friends pc for free you seem like nice/normal guy. just talk with her and keep all your doors looked. you wouldn't leave a port open on your firewall, would you?

Give her computer back and put a Keylogger on it.

All you have to do is stick a windows xp pro disc in there and format the damn thing. Put the drivers on it, make sure the ethernet/wifi/sound/video works fine, and give the damn thing back to her.

TRUST ME.

I've kinda simmered down a little bit since this happened yesterday. She called, and her apology seemed sincere. I think she's just one of those people that don't possess that little voice in their head that tells them to think before they act. I mean if my front door was left unlocked, I could see her just sliding the PC in with a note attached, I would have no problem with that. But to scale the side of a building... It's just hard for me to understand how your internal thought process would lead you to thinking that is a good idea.

My gf always tells me how she WAY overstays her welcome at her house and other things like that. I remember the first time I met her, my girlfriend brought her over to my place (I happened to be eating dinner at the time) and the first thing she ever said to me was, "Can I have half of your tuna fish sandwich?"...

I'm thinking I will just fix that damn computer, my gf can do whatever she wants with it (she more pissed about this then me, she may just take a baseball bat to it). I'm done with this whole awkward situation.

Then yes, you can come to the booming Alberta tar sands, make 80k a year, get hooked on cocaine (possibly crack, meth, steroids and magic markers too), blow all your money on a truck and hookers, get injured or fired and then become one of downtown Edmonton's upstanding nomadic residents...

lol jk, some people can make it work for them and make TONS of money. I just know a lot of ppl that have had their lives royally f'd up by going and working up north.
