well, I think I am going to make a new website: a forum.
the forum will be about graphics, art, drawings, photoshop, gimp, painting etc.

I'm going to host it on a free hosting site with unlimited bandwidht.
it's going to be phpbb.

but you guy's tell me, if it's a good idea to have it on a free hosting site. it's my only option

and could you guy's help me making a name for it.

I thought of "drawing lifes" . as you see I'm really bad at making a name for a site.

could you guy's give me please some examples of how I can call it.

As long as you can use your own .com or whatever domain name.

Don't use a free domain from the webhost. That's the worst thing to do.

And if you're serious about the forum, maybe plan on making money from it one day, go for a VB forum. They're so much better. Also look at VBSEO for good SEO.

I would recommend a decent paid hosting service. Hosting Gator is cheap and is one of the best out there. They're hosted at The Planet, so their up time is excellent.

And about a domain name, you want a dot com no matter what. Most major websites are dot com... don't waste your time with a dot info, etc.

Those are for marketers like us, cheap and throwaways.

well, to be really honest. I don't have any money, so I can't give any money. I know a hosting is like $1 per month. but I don't have the money. so that's the reason I chose for the free hosting, with unlimmited bandwith.
and the Vbulletin maybe I can download that via torrents

I don't have the money and that's why I also don't have a domain name. I get a domain name with the free hosting. they give me a free domain name and the free hosting.

I know this may sound pathetic to you guy's, but sorry to tell it's true

I thought it would be a good idea, where users can share there tallents, drawings, paintings etc.

I know it takes money to make money, but it's not the right time for me. maybe in a year or two, I can change it into a "more" proffesional forum.

Don't think negatively before you even start. You should do it but try to think it through a bit more and see if there is a way to use a paid host. Free hosting is terrible. There are a lot of low cost hosts out there. One of my sites is on A Small Orange (weird name I know). You can get by for like $7/month

Also, phpbb is a joke but if you can't afford vbulletin you might have to go with it.

There are a ton of graphic forums and sites already up. You competition is strong. If you have the time and patience go for it. Good Luck.

i have considering this for a while but i shied away from it after careful consideration. this should, by no means influence your decision.
ask yourself the following questions:

do you like people... meaning do you have good people skills?
are you a good motivator?
do you have great leadership skills?
are you very passionate about the topic of your forum?
do you know how you are going to sustain it financially?

these are just a few of the questions you need to consider. i left it alone because i couldn't figure out very concrete ways to monetize it.
