Moral Compass
“used in reference to a person's ability to judge what is right and wrong and act accordingly. “
That is what I found with a quick Google search and it’s perfect.
I will try to say this as polite and respectful as I possibly can because I don’t mean to point fingers at anyone, and I would never try and stand in the way of a person making money and providing for their family. With that being said, these are trying times for reasons we all know. The world is filled with fear and uncertainty and people are scared. They don’t know what to believe and most aren’t even sure they will be paid on the next payday.
Where am I going with this? Well I’m just asking (as a nobody on here) for people to use their heads and PLEASE do not try and take advantage of people with any type of online scams over the next weeks or months that lie ahead for us all. I am not speaking about anything on this forum, but in general terms. If I was to give an example, it would be to send out emails to people with the sole intent of fooling them (through fear) into sending money or something along those lines.
I live in Canada and feel fortunate to live here. I know others on here are not this lucky and life can be fucking hard and seem unfair. There is not a day that goes by in my life that I do not take a call from the “government” or the “police” coming to arrest me unless I send Bitcoin to some damn account. I hear weekly about people that should know better sending money to some Prince to cash in on a forgotten fortune. I can spot these scams easily like most of us on here would, but others (elderly especially) don’t understand this stuff the same way and they fall for these fucking online scams?!?
I just ask that, if you “know a friend” that does this type of shit that you ask them to take a couple weeks off. The stock market is crashing, layoffs are already in record numbers and these government aid packages will likely not be enough and worse than that, not reach people in time. Things are likely to get worse before they improve. The people cannot handle being scammed on top of everything else on their plates. Please just try and follow your own moral compass and don’t add to the problem. Just be a decent person in general.
Okay, rant over or whatever you’re supposed to say after that.
Stay safe everyone.
