I'm very sensitive to this stuff, potentially from drinking 3-4 cups daily some years back.
Take a cup after doing something you need to remember, not before. Makes sense - if I'm too wired I can't focus on shit. Bonus = drink coffee after your workouts; it improves sugar uptake and enhances fat oxidation. Should become a nutritional consultant...

caffeine does nothing to me..I think I built a tolerance from when I use to take pre-workout for the gym..
Adderall helps with my memory :)

    you probably shouldn't take preworkout...or Adderall..lol

A lot of pre-workout drinks|pills are little more than caffeine. I know you're saying take caffeine after a workout, but are you against it before a workout? It helps activate muscles when your body is "sleepy."

And, would the caffeine quantity in tea be better or worse for you when compared to coffee?

if your going to take caffeine to workout then it would be very beneficial to take it 15 mins before a workout.
if your doing weightlifting then you should have protein within30mins after your workout.

I believe caffeine quantity in both are very similar...having coffee or tea isn't bad..only becomes a problem if you have liver pains or heart palpitations

I'm not a believer of the protein window. I've heard everything from needing to drink a shake immediately after working out to it being ok to eat up to three hours later with no loss of absorption, build or recovery.

I'm very interested to know once and for all, in a fitness and general sense, whether tea or coffee is better for you.

Caffeine does not cause depression. It's been found to help with depression, but it can lead to panic|anxiety, which unlike depression is an overabundance of energy with no outlet whereas depression is more of a survival mechanism where the body reduces effectiveness of stimuli so the available energy does not cause panic|anxiety when there is no outlet. Being depressed and having anxiety are not always mutually inclusive and can counterbalance one another, but when depression leads to anxiety and back again, things can get understandably difficult, especially when chemicals are introduced to the body undergoing this unbalance.

I've drank tea and coffee alike, growing up in Florida...well..haha.
Crazy thing for me is coffee/rockstar/monster before a workout doesn't do shit, and am beginning to think it no longer affects me physically. Mentally I get very pumped to the point of feeling coked up..then moody.

If your goal's to shed fat, give it a couple hours before eating after exercise. Nutrient partitioning, GH levels and protein synthesis reach ideal levels by then.
Another note is caffeine decreases my vascularity pre-workout, I've just learned to sip what I need instead of chugging it. Coffee has plenty of health benefits outside of exercise to justify enjoying it.

Caffeine rocks really. You can straightaway get the difference once you have it. The only thing I hate about it is the fact that if you drink it too much, you will surely have a sleepless night.

I love a small demitasse cup of espresso straight up after each meal.
It gives me a nice subtle energy burst and actually helps me to focus.

Over the years, I have learned how much helps me and how much
hinders me. If I exceed my limit, I get "wired", and that's not good.

Believe me, I'm coffee addict for 3 years.
In 3 years I got tons of panic attack, depression and anxiety till I need to take XANAX almost everyday, to relieve the problem.

But after I stop drinking coffee for 2 months, just one snap, all my problem are gone. But I still drinking coffee some day, but not regularly.

And this year, I got new addiction. Called "LOTUS LEAF TEA", I mistaken buy it when I visit Vietnam. I want buy green tea, but end up buying this lotus leaf tea. It need to be prepare with hot water + the tea itself without sugar.

The taste kinda bitter. But the advantages are..

    - Make you super chill, reduce anxiety, reduce stress (more like spiritual feeling)
    - Clear toxin in your liver if you are alcoholic + promote healthy liver functions
    - Clear nicotine
    - Increase body metabolism (for burning your fat), I loss many fat though :D
    - Has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties
    - Get rid of appetite
    - Get rid of taste of sugar

All BHW'S should try this tea. :D

Wired feels awful, precisely why knowing our limit is important.
I've found taking a couple sips helps me out, sometimes going 2 days between drinks. Start drinking it routinely and the withdrawal comes on. It makes me wonder what's the caffeine & what's my own expectations/placebo.

Coffee was consider once the blessing of God to human when it was finally "discovered" in Europe. Poems were written about it, the elite and clergy were ecstatic.

Why all this fuss? Well, people used to drink alcohol in their works before. Coffee comes up, productivity rises sky high - what 's not to love if you 're a middle ages lord? :)

How delightful. A history lesson from jazzc, I skimped on coffee today but this dark-chocolate bar will have to suffice.

I would use a piece of paper, and pencil over any artificial stimulant, if i had to remember something.

I don't really like coffee (although I've been drinking it almost daily for the past few months, it's so damn cold at times and I need a hot drink, tried decaffeinated once - the stuff is rank) but drink way too many energy drinks, anyway I would think I've built up a tolerance to it over the years. I don't know if it's just a placebo effect or what but the only time it seems to affect me is if I'm trying to stay awake and drink coffee etc it just makes me more sleepy, never really cared enough to find out why. As for the energy drinks, I just like the taste. Really, really bad reason to be drinking them lol

Caffeine isn't artificial? I do believe in using our natural abilities most often though.

They do taste fucking amazing don't they. lol
