    Hey Guys,

I hope you have read Nick's post - http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...-build-your-own-pbn-under-275-15-domains.html . Its definitely a good thread where you can find info to get domains to get started with a network. This domain contains just a bit of extra information with regards to it.

In this thread I would be focusing on finding the right domains. Many a times you find domains with good PA/DA or good TF/CF and they are actually spammed domains. So you should always check the anchors and backlinks and avoid buying domains blindly with their metrics. Below are 2 examples

    2.png

    1.png

    So lets get started -

    Step 1 - Find a domain

You will get details on this from Nick's thread. In short get yourself ready with any domain which is available or you want to purchase from namejet or any backordering service.

In this example i am going to use knockabbeycastle.com

You have to go for the domain which is indexed in google to avoid any risk,

Step 2 - Check the backlinks

Go to Majesticseo or Ahrefs or any other Backlinks tool and look for its backlinks and anchors.

    I would be using Majestic

    Majestic.png

I then decided to check the pagerank of its top 3 backlinks -

    pagerank.png

So the backlinks look like they can hold the pagerank and metrics for the domain. Many times there are domains which have backlinks but PR N/A or 0.

Step 3 - Check the archived data.

Once you have the domain with right metrics and backlinks move on to find whether the domain had a site on it or no . So we logon to http://archive.org/web/

    wayback.png

    wayback 2.png

So this domain has a website but it doesn't show up in 2014 but in earlier years . Might be a doubtful domain but still worth trying for its price.

    site history.png

    Benefits of WayBackMachine -
    1. Even if a domain shows up a valid pagerank in other tools you would actually get to know if its real or a 301 or 302 to some other domain in WBM
    2. You know the type of website the domain had so that would help you categorize the domain.
    3. You can also use the content of these websites when you own the domain.
    4. You get the site history.

If you are bidding or acquiring a domain at a high price it is definitely recommended to go for a domain which has good Wayback history.

So these were the main steps. I might have missed some points which some senior members could definitely add up to.

Alternatively you can also go to http://whois.domaintools.com and see if the domain was dropped earlier. I'm might not sure if that matters much or no but still a point to consider for high value domains.

I decided to make this thread because just yesterday i saw people bidding almost more than 200$ for a PR4 or PR5 which actually had those chinese/japanese spam type anchors.

Always good to make sure you do enough research before you buy high value domains.

I hope you benefit from the above information and it helps you in buying good quality domains and I wish you all luck with your PBN. I'm sure other members can put some more value to this thread.

    Have a great day :)

    Rockstar

Offcourse. Much of the people know how to find good domains. As i said its just a little bit of extra info for the 225$ network.

Yeah atleast they wont end up buying bad domains when they actually have little investment.

I guess you followed those links :D

Wayback thing depends on the type of domain you are buying. You dont want to end up buying a redirected domain which now shows a valid pagerank because of the domain expiry landing page. If you are buying a 10$ domain its a lot more of homework ;)

DomCop is a nice way to find domains from godaddy and others. They also have MajesticSEO metrics which many other dont have.

Good luck domaining and thanks for the support

Registercompass is good too. DomCop is good for the newbies. They have a free 30 day trial so just quite good to get started.

Agree. Register compass saves you a lot of time and shows most of the metrics you mentioned in this post within the dashboard. You can filter according to PR (real or fake), DA, PA, Archives, Alexa Rank, and a shit load of other metrics.

Here's another little nugget for you guys. With Register Compass you can filter by amount of archives. I try to buy domains that have a full archive, so it's just a matter of ripping the old site and adding it back to the domain. I have a program that automatically does it, but I don't give that out. Instead you can use http://waybackdownloader.com/pricing/.

    Good luck bros.
