A dns leak or a problem coming from the proxy ?

hi everyone i hope you are doing well

When I do a dns test on whoer. com the site shows me a dns leak from a German dns ( my original ip is not german )

and the other dns that the site shows me are American (which is supposed to be displayed) I changed browser I put a secure browser same thing Chrome or Firefox nothing changes I installed dnsscript it does not solve the problem I changed the dns parameters by towards (1) 8.8.8.8 (2) 8.8.4.4 still does not work The only guess that remains the problem comes from the proxy (it's a static residential proxy)

what do you think ?

Well, whoer has that habit of showing something "wrong" that can be solved with a service from them. I'll leave it at that!!!

That could be an issue with IP location. If you check that IP address at https://www.iplocation.net/ip-lookup you can see that it’s both US and DE. It’s possible that subnet was moved from US to DE or DE to US and all databases haven’t been updated yet.

Obviously it is a bug in google DNS routing. Some DNS requests are sent out from Google servers in Germany. Use DNS of an ISP of country where proxy IP is. It has to be a local\domestic DNS of the country , not global DNS service. Don't use google DNS when you want to achieve good GEO-spoofing

Third party websites often show inaccurate data and they're not reliable in my opinion because they show a problem and sell the solution, but it could be a bug as well because some DNS requests are sent out from Google servers in Germany.

If the objective is creating social media accounts, then the DNS server location does not matter, it is the ISP location that matters (if the objective is creating social media accounts).

It's normal if you use a public DNS like google, cloudflare etc. And it's not really a "leak" but part of the design. I use Google DNS on router and i see Australia, germany, singapore etc along with my own country's DNS servers.

If you you want geo-consistency between your IP and DNS IP then stick to DNS servers provided by your ISP or get a custom DNS server.

It's not problematic in most cases(even if you're trying to bypass a system)

I mean when you make vpn out of a proxy (it's done by phone apps that redirect all phone's traffic via the proxy) then you need valid dns server. Because phone wants to resolve hostnames (with a dns server) before sending them to the proxy. And you just showed, google dns may be a wrong choice.

When you use proxy in browser, dns leak will not happen. Because browser sends hostnames unchanged to the proxy.

yes I did then I used the google dns server and dns script but still the same problem my goal is to know if the problem comes from the proxy itself

That would require to have a friend in that specific country or am I wrong? I‘m having the same issue with random DNS leaks but don‘t want to use public ones like google.
