Just to ask a question about onpage seo ... years ago it was very important to use <h1> and <h2> , bold your keywords on the page and try to get your keywords in the first sentence of your page .... does this still apply? only asking as there seems to be a massive push from Googl to make our pages user friendly and not bot friendly as it used to be years ago?

Great post for beginners. The context section should be bigger, and if you read 10 different threads you'll get 10 unique answers on what to do.
BHW seems to be guessing on the number of words per page, so just take 500 as a rule of thumb. SEO is not an exact science and anyone preaching it as one doesn't understand it.
