Try to get your games early and upload them, be careful because some developers will ban your channel for it. But others dont care really. I do it alkl the time and I'm almost at 4k. Here is how I thought about it.
-Youtube's default search is by relevancy.
-If you are the first to upload a Walkthrough or Commentary with the new game (that hasn't been released yet) in the background. than youtube will make it at the top of the search.
-Try to get it up before the big guys get on the upload train, It will give you a small window to gain loyal subscribers.
(This means you have to assume the devs will allow it, but if you wanna grow you have to take risks!)
My Method:
-get a flashed Xbox 360. (In the long run its worth it) (People are trying to figure out a flash for the XB1 as well as the PS4)
-search the game on you favorite torrent site and get it.(The game is usually up 2 weeks before it releases so you will have plenty of time to record as much as you want)
-Upload the video within 1-48 hours before release.
-Developers usually say if its ok to post on there personal twitter accounts so you need to do your research
-If they don't stated it publicly drill them until the give you an answer!
