A beginners journey to earning $2000 per month

Louis, I'll tell you one thing - you can write! Your eBook sounds promising if you can keep at it. Amazon works for some the low commission put me off personally but I have always wanted to try out kindle. There is a guy on here :check out his thread to do with Kindle.

I appreciate the kind words. You've motivated me even more to succeed with my eBook. The problem is I've only just begun my journey into IM and I've already bitten off quite a big mouthful. I've read a few of the Kindle threads and I will definitely be publishing a book. I don't expect to get rich off of one Amazon book. It's simply going to be a foray into how Kindle publishing works and whether or not it's something I'm willing to pursue. Never keep all your eggs in one basket, friend!

Hey keep up the great work! Have you ever thought of finding a product you can source and just selling that on amazon and marketing it better? I think that can get you to $2k pretty quick in my experience. Anyway, interested to see how you do.

Never keep all your eggs in one basket, friend!

True words! Different income sources are important for long term. But when you start, you should focus on ONE source of income. If you are successful and have a stable income with this ONE method, you should spread the risk by creating new income sources.

There a tons of methods to earn good money. Everything sounds promising. But it makes no sense to make 10 different "projects" simultaneously. Concentrate on ONE "project" and do it more successful.

Kindle eBooks are a good way to start because a) it is not necessary to invest money b) you need no prior knowledge c) you create your own conent.

Own content is the key because if you have enough own content you can easily market your content in any direction. Websites, audiobooks, videos, smartphone apps, mailing lists and so on. It's your own content - for lifetime. This means that eg. even if there are no more books to be bought in 10 years, there will be other opportunities to market your content. You will always be able to sell information in any form.

work hard with determination. and also,,do check fiver, freelancer and odesk. good luck bro

Actually making money from internet is a big task, and requires lot of patience :) .

Day 5

It's a beautiful day here today so I'm going to be out cycling for a few hours. Before I go I'm going to do some work and even more when I get home. Here's what I want to get done today.

Write an article for both of my affiliate sites. For my original I'm going to write a 2-3k article. For the 2nd site I'm going to write an About Us and Introductory article. Affiliate links are live on my first site but no clicks yet.

I'm going to be making social media accounts for both affiliate sites. I'm also going to manually submitting articles to the free directories I can find. Using the keywords I've found I'm going to come up with a bunch of relevant article titles so I don't have to think of them every time I want to write.

Still looking for the best Wordpress theme. Magazine themes are the best choice but I'm conflicted as to which one is going to be the most effective.

Going to browse oDesk and Elance for jobs to make proposals to. No new orders on Fiverr so far today.

The guy from oDesk paid me $25, not the $45 we had agreed on, for the 3 articles. That's not bad since they didn't take me very long. He also ended the contract but left a good review. I guess he was looking for a cheaper writer. Not a big deal, I don't take it personally.

I'm going to submit another article to Constant-Content. They have 3 of my articles so far that are under editorial review. I'm hoping those will be approved soon and can start earning.

I didn't accomplish anything ebook related yesterday and now I feel lazy. Today I will write at least 1k words.

My total earnings so far are $45. That's just from writing. Nothing special. I'm hoping to make an Amazon Affiliate sale in the next few weeks. I'm in no rush though. I'm still 100% determined and motivated.

Of course, here's my daily motivational quote. I've been checking them throughout the day whenever I find my focus starting to wander.

"Your heart is free - have the courage to follow it" - William Wallace

Sounds like a great journey bro, keep working hard and you'll easily achieve $2000 a day.

Quick update. I'm very tired. Here's what I accomplished today.

Wrote and uploaded an article to both my affiliate sites. My first site has gotten some traffic but I'm not exactly sure from where.

Submitted another article to Constant Content. Still waiting on the editors to approve my first one.

Good news regarding oDesk. The guy I was working with reached out to me through email and asked if I would continue to work for him. That's great and he is reimbursing me quite well for the content I've provided.

I wrote 1.5k words for my ebook.

Still haven't decided on a theme for my affiliate sites.

Nothing from Fiverr all day. I will look into how to get more Fiverr orders tomorrow.

I'm very tired so I will upload a more detailed post tomorrow.

Here's my motivational quote of the night.

"Don't look back. You're not going that way" - Unknown.

Why are you creating content for other people, so that they make money with your work? I thought you would like a steady passive income of $2k/month? So YOU have to hire people who create content for YOU because YOU want to make money. If you work for others it is like a normal job. Your income will always be limited.

Beginner's journeys are always very inspiring and worth reading. Keep it up bro and wish you all the best! :)

Good luck. I know it is possible. I now a bhw memeber, living in Thailand's Koh Samui is making good money. $ 2k if far enough for a good life in such a country, i was there myself, they charge around $1 for a large beer and 0.5 for good food :-)

Wish you luck.

I'll see you there one day!

I'm working for others at the moment because I enjoy writing and I'm at least earning something from it. While I do have a financial safety net I need to prove to myself that I can earn online through various methods. Passive income is still my most important goal and I've been working towards that daily. However, it's not like I can go from $0 to $2000 overnight in passive income, and that's not what I'm expecting to happen. All the money I earn online will be reinvested and I plan on outsourcing everything once I get the feel for what works and what doesn't. I also have a low tolerance for risk and I don't want to invest my savings just yet.

Day 6

Here's what I want to accomplish today.

Adding more content to my affiliate sites and researching ways to drive traffic. I'm not ranked on the first page of Google yet for either of them. I'm not sure how quickly that's supposed to happen but that is what I'm striving for. The articles I've been uploading are between 700-1000k words and yesterday I uploaded a 3.5k review to my original site. Traffic on the first site seems to be 1-2 hits per day, mostly from Bing. The second site hasn't seen much traffic at all. There isn't much content on it yet and I haven't been promoting it anywhere.

I'm still looking for the perfect website theme.

I'm going to be writing 3 articles for the guy from oDesk. I expect that to take 1-2 hours.

I will write another 1k words for my ebook. It's getting up there in word count and every time I write another 1k words I come up with new ideas, new chapters, etc. I hope to have that on Amazon within the next 2 weeks or so.

Nothing on Fiverr overnight. I'm not sure why that dried up so quickly but I'll be looking into it today.

I'll be submitting yet another article to Constant Content. I have a whole bunch that I've submitted and are under review. I'm not sure why it's taking so long for the article to pass. When it does they are all on sale for anywhere from $25 to $75 depending on the content. Hoping for some sales from that pretty soon.

Not sure if I missed anything but I plan to be working for the next couple hours and will post an update tonight.

As always, here's my motivation for the day.

"If you set your goals ridicylously high and it's a failure, you will fail above everyone elses successes." - James Cameron

As a freelance blogger myself, a word of warning. Problem clients will always be problem clients. Stay away from them.

I know it's early in your journey and any income seems great, but your oDesk client paid you less than you agreed. That would set alarm bells ringing in my head and if I were you I would have nothing to do with him again.

When you pick up more clients you'll understand how important it is to distance yourself from problem clients the moment you sense trouble!

Thank you for the great insight. After I receive payment for the 3 articles I've just given him I will end our relationship and continue my search for freelance positions.

Hey guys,

I've been working all day and it's time for bed. Here's what I accomplished today.

I added content to both my affiliate sites. I added 2 articles to my original site and 1 article to the new site. I will be adding content every day for the next 7-10 days and then let them sit to determine if they are worth pursuing. Traffic was 3 hits today for my 1st site and no traffic yet for my 2nd site. Haven't got any clicks yet on the affiliate links.

I tried 20 themes today, all of them free, and I was unable to decide on one. I'll browse the premium themes at Themeforest tomorrow and hopefully make my decision.

The guy I was dealing with on oDesk has come through and deposited $100 for 6 articles into my PayPal. This surprised me and is great news. He paid me for the second set of articles I sent him and for the remaining 3 that I will give him tomorrow. I'm unsure how to proceed with this guy but since he paid upfront I'll decide what to do after I give him the content. That brings my earnings in the past 6 days to ~$150.

I got 1 order today on Fiverr. The order was for a simple blog post. Finished that in 15 minutes and delivered.

Constant Content FINALLY accepted my first article. It's up for $25 for full rights. I wrote another article and submitted it. I'm excited to see if this article is purchased or not. The only problem is Constant Content takes 30% but at least I can set the price and they market it for me.

I wrote 500 words for my eBook. While that's less than I wanted to I ended up thinking of another eBook idea while writing and I made an outline for that.

Overall I'm pleased with my progression so far.

I'm off to read now before I go to bed. Currently reading Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage.

As always, here's some motivation for the night.
