7878's Lettermethod executed o/

This is awesome. Thanks a lot for making this thread. This method + my current earnings could easily put me far over $10/k a month which was my goal. Will be following more closely! :)

My pleasure! Hope you will reach your goal soon! :)
Keep it up!

fistor, you are awesome! I've been following this thread from the beginning and it is a thriller. I am from Europe, too. My only concern, until now is how to invoice the prospects without opening a company (pain in the butt in Europe, taxes, accountant, etc.)
I would like to get my feet wet with this method, but they will not pay through PayPal. They will want a real invoice, with tax ID and
shit. Can't build a new company, with no money and risk that it doesn't work in my country. Maybe I just jump into the water and force them to pay through PayPal. What do you think as a fellow citizen of this "old, stinky continent" ;)

+Rep'ed you (no brainer)

Thank you man.
Regarding your concerns:
I went through the same kind of stuff (see first post).
But in 99% of the cases you will not only need a company, but also want one!
When I first started offline Marketing I always thought I dont need a company. Guess what? Eventhough I had all of their Attention none of them wanted me to actually work for them. It's too much of a risk to hire someone who works without any kind of Paper.
Its just like you said. No (real/legit) invoices, no Tax ID, nothing.

You could also make yourself a sole trader.
I never recommend going that route, because IF something does happen, you are fucked and in debts until you die.
Please do yourself a favour and open any kind of limited company. Living in Europe you are given the choice to open a very cheap British Ltd or a limited of your country, if they provide such an option.

Trust me. When you lost deals worth 7.000+€ EACH just because you didn't want to open a company, it will hunt you. forever.
You shouldnt do the mistakes ive done :)

In your original post you didn't overcome the husbands objections that you're services were too expensive.
Closing a restaurant on price objection is very easy.

Ask the owner if their food is any good.
They'll never say no.
So that would mean that diners come back and would tell their friends.
Put that to them they wont deny this.
So if we call an average customer value as $30 for a restaurant.
Put to them.
"So if my solutions only bought you in one new or reactivated customer a month and they introduced only one
of their friends and increased your revenue by $10,890 and is tax deductable, doesn't it make a wise business investment? Because if I was
in your position I'd be chewing my arm off for it"

Now you have them in a headlock.
Any business owner who can't see the logic of that should probably not be in business.

I've uploaded my customer value excel calculator for you to hammer home the point.
Just change the customer spend value in the top left to whatever it is for your particular client.

Code:

Hope it helps.

I never spoke to him.
As I wrote, I immediately left. Wasn't exactly worth my time from what I could hear.

I'm selling for close to 4 years now. And from what I know I can tell you, that if you really want to present numbers, do indepth Research and present numbers based on REAL calculations. People can be pissed as hell, if you present some random numbers.
A template will always be off. From my Experience the Client does not care about customer values anyways. As thats still before tax, employees and the biggest factor, contribution margin.

Also, I highly(!!) recommend learning or atleast reading through the field of NLP. It's actually what made me able to sell 5 figure contracts regularly. Of course that also does have alot to do with the fact, that I'm way more confident when selling one of my Main Services. This is the first time I've done ORM after all. Bluffing all day. ;)
Cheers

How do you usually overcome questions like:

1. "How can you get me more reviews"
2. "So how exactly are you getting me more reviews when I am the one (as a business owner) who is asking my clients to leave me reviews?"

Pleasantly surprised about your results! Nice work! ;)

1.) Well it's exactly the service you are about to offering.
A Customer who has had a nice convenient visit at your business will just leave your place, and most likely not thinking about leaving you a positive review. What we do now is to get those Reviews back into his mind. And that right before he leaves. We also make it really simple for those People to leave a Review. A Customer with a bad experience on the other hand will (more likely) make your business appear worse than it really is to others. That is due to his frustation. With this Concept you do not only filter a lot of those negative publicity, you are also being given the chance to charm those customers back into your store, giving your business a second chance. etcetcetc

2.) Marketing isn't exactly static. By going with us you do not only save yourself a lot of time; we are also always up to date. We are ready to adapt to any situation there is. When hiring us we guarantee you the state of the art in terms of marketing. yada yada
Also: You do NOT(!!) buy reviews at all! Instead you are hiring us to present you an attractive marketing concept, which will work beautifully longterm.

Anything goes really. Don't make it more complicated than it really is. Your first PM must have been a few weeks ago now, have you started yet?

Pleasantly surprised about your results! Nice work! ;)

Thanks! :)

Nice work, congrats!

I woud like to ask you:
1) What exactly are you offering to your customers in small/medium/upsell package?
2) Do you target only local business with <3.0 score rate in G Maps or above/below?

These guys could put a dent into this business method! reviewbalance DOT com. This kind of pisses me off, as businesses could find them online and get basically the same package for FREE or for only 20 Bucks/month. Damn it. If the business owner is internet savvy or puts one of "his guys" into search mode, then they could find this and put us out of business.

I hate the "arms race" that is going on online. As soon as I only think about an idea that doesn't exist, there is someone milking and skinning the cow (not in this case as it is 7878's idea). I hope this doesn't sound to negative, but as entrepreneurs you should know the opportunities and risks/threats. Maybe we have to find another twist to add to the package, to distinguish ourselves from these guys. Just wanted to give you all a heads up.

There are actually couple others out there. Similar concept but even better than reviewb@lance DOT com.

Like 7878 said, its about the service and the value you can provide to your clients, not a simple script etc.

I'm only approaching businesses with 3 scores, or less. I also found the ones with only 1 score/star rating to be the worst. They don't seem to care about their business anyways. Had some of the most disguisting appointments ever with them. 2 and 3 scorings work the best for me. :)

Keep in mind they pay for YOU, too! They'll always have someone they can talk to, locally. When you go into your average electronics-store you do also pay more compared to online prices. That's just how it works. Don't let them stop you. :)
Also add in stuff they don't. ;)
Be creative and come up with some killer features!

Yea.. So I got some PM's because of my last post.
Just to clarify things, I'm not telling you to NOT approach 1 Stars Businesses.
All I'm saying is, they do not work for ME!

What doesn't work for me, might work for you, and vice versa. Give it a shot, you might have different results!

Kay, back to the "Journey". I completly delegated all of this, because of heavy lack of time on my side.
I switched one of my top salesman from one company to the other, so he is eligble to work on this project.

Eventhough the Main Method works, and there are still plenty of Businesses to approach, I took a different route.
Means I stopped mailing Businesses with neg rep.

Instead what I told him to do is mailing Businesses, that are listed, but do not have any reviews at all.
To add some Drama to the Letter, I pulled their (empty) Reviewspage, and attached their good-awesome (3.5-5) Stars neighborhood Businesses right next to it.
Then I added the usual Marketing shizzle, "Start to compete with these Businesses" etc.

First Batch included 200 Letters in total, of which we got 20 Callbacks so far. He closed 2 of them, I closed 3 in my "freetime".
That was not even a week ago. All of the Deals are 6+ Months. All of them are $400-$1700. Getting their Neighbors into the Game was the best move ever, seriously. Businesses seem to hate each others so much, they'd do literally anything to overcome their direct(!) competitors.
For these clients I offered completly different upsells. They obviously do not need to have their reputation "cleansed". They do not need recurring Customers, too. Instead they need new Customers, they need attention. So I built up my upsells to that aspect. Usual Marketing stuff, you won't need help on this most likely.

So yea. This stuff can really be applied to any Business out there.... but 1 Star Businesses apparently, lol.

have you considered selling them SEO services as well? The ORM model always seemed odd to me as opposed to selling SEO, but maybe selling ORM is smarter.

Hey, no.
I'm not much of a SEO-Dude. And even if, I dont find ORM and SEO are related enough to be sold together.

But that's just my opinion. It might even work, just give it a try if you feel like it's something your clients are in need of :)

Social media and local SEO go well with reputation management/marketing.

^I'm upselling Social Media too. It fits very well.
And as I said, I personally do NOT find SEO to be related to ORM. People here are trying to upsell SEO to anything they do, its getting stupid.
But again(!) that's just my point of view.
If it works for you; great! :)

Very inspirational and it is nice to see someone took action. Its true there are plenty of cash out in the world.
We just have to go out and get it. Because it is not coming to our door and knocking!

Did you follow up with a phone call or even an e-mail to the 98 that didn't respond in the first batch?

I used this technique, with a twist and brought in 15 new clients which kept me steady for about a year.

P.S. Using business' against a "neighboring business" worked extremely well for me as well. Nice share to the community, I hope more will pick up on that. Easier to sell "no reviews" that "shatty reviews"!
