1. Well, basically I have 6 sites hosted on the same hosting company, I have the same IP for each site ... and I realised that's a huge footprint I believe ... can you guys recommend me something ... what should I do? I was thinking to get different sharing hosting for each site, but that would cost me $4,50 per site, per month, that's $27 total which is too much for me at the moment.

Any idea please?

2. If I'll move like I said, each site on a different IP, I'll need to move the wordpress, the databases, etc etc, on the new IP, or how's that work? I never did this, sorry for this dumb question.

Thanks a lot! :)

Ask your host for dedicated IP for each site, It usually costs $1 or so per IP..

Well ... I have shared hosting package, they said I should move to a VPS, and I don't want to do that, because I had a friend who had VPS from those guys, hostwinds, and when he reached 1,000 visitors per day, the VPS was loading very bad, things like that, sites were loading slow. He said if I'd get a VPS I should get a minimum $40 one. That's the problem here...

If they can't handle 1000 visitors a day, why are you with them? I pay a one off fee upfront for my friends hosting and it's entirely unlimited for 2 years, it pays to shop around, you're right though you need to change the IP, so request dedicated IP addresses from your host, they should be no more than $2 maximum.

Well, I did that before, the thing is that I'm on shared hosting, not a VPS, and they can't allocate one IP per site, it's one IP for each site on that shared hosting package that I have. That's what they said ...

I wouldn't do that either.

Here is an alternative that should help you out of your situation:

15.00 a month will get you 10 IP addresses.

I do not have an affiliation with them at all, I just know it is not a bad deal for a guy with a handful of sites. They may move your sites for you or you can hire a VA to do that for a minimal amount.

Yeah this seems like your best option, I also am not affiliated with them, I am saying this based on the service they are offering.

I just talked to Hostwinds support, you can have a resellers account and assign a dedicated ip to each cpanel. So setup 1 domain per cpanel.
My resellers account only cost $5/month since i got the black friday deal, and black friday is coming up soon.. they always have good deals around that time. A resellers account is only $10 if paying normal price. So stick with Hostwinds, Great support! Plus reseller accounts are much easier to handle multiple domains since you get a WHM and alot of cool features are included.

It depends upon what you are doing with the sites and who the hosting company is. If your sites are not interlinked, in different niches with different themes, different content, not using as a PBN for linking purposes, and on a shared hosting plan with someone like a hostgator or godaddy hosting, etc. with thousands of hosted sites, then I wouldn't worry too much about them being on the same ip.

The suggestion to get a starter reseller plan and assign different ip to each may not help you that much, again depending upon how you use the sites.

If they are all on cPanel and you are moving to another cPanel hosting company then they will probably move them for you for free.

Yeah I talked to them again, seems that the first guy I talked with, didn't know what he was saying. Problem with hostwinds that you have to pay each month for the ip's, not one time fee.

All companies are going to hit you monthly for IPs; take a look at the guys I suggested. We are actually using them for a small project and the pricing is decent, the service is very good and the sites load quickly.

6 sites is not enough to be worried about having all your sites hosted on the same host and IP. Hosting your money sites on different IPs is only necessary or advisable if you have many of them. For example, a webmaster that has 50 sites on the same host is taking a big risk, but you with 6 sites aren't.

What if I own a tumblr blog network of 20 high PR and PA tumblrs? Isn't it risky if 15-20 tumblrs point to the same 6 sites, which are hosted on the same IP? That's why I was a bit afraid. Basically I want to create backlinks from those tumblrs for each site of mine (of course I'll keep the tumblrs active by posting more and more, pointing to other websites too, but mine aswell).

Are all of your sites going to be using heavy blackhat techniques?
