Noob question, what do you mean by cookie?

Noob question, what do you mean by cookie?

Its a file that is placed in your computer by a website to help the website track certain things. In Amazon's case, it places a cookie that expires in 24 hours when a visitor clicks on an Amazon Affiliate's link.

How about sending your autoblog trafffic to a presell site first. I may entice a few more of them to buy.

HOW much would you have made if it was in adsense?

Also how much do you earn from your sale? 3% ?

Im really finding it hard to see what all the fuss is about amazon.

Amazon sucks..i tried to earn money from amazon ads and i failed....:(
its depend on quality traffic.

Amazon works great for impulse-buy, when people is in a hurry, or when you are selling a hard to find niche product.

Otherwise their cookie will expire before the user actually makes a sale... or the amazon newsletter hits your visitor inbox to close the sale in their own.

78 clicks and 2 sales bad month for me, I usually clear every 20 clicks , and on the

other site 30 with 0 sales I am "glad" (not really) to see that its not only me, I usually

clear around 100$ with both the sites. I always hit the 6% commission but so far

not this month, I hope we all do better REALLY Soon !

It's been a good month for me so far..

Clicks 4311 and Ordered items 68..made about $100.66!
Not that much but it is growing :)

Man Talk about a crappy month!

These stats are from my autoblogs...

Conversions really suck.

Might be a lot of spiders, but it can't be all spiders.

Any other autobloggers have stats like these?

Autoblogs are GARBAGE! This is lazy IM and the reason google is punishing all affiliate marketers. Put some unique content up regularly and work on getting targeted visitors!

Also, try tweaking your design on those blogs a bit-you would be surprised how much your ctr can improve by doing this. Twitter traffic is junky and you need tons of it to make any real money. Good luck.

Not to go off topic, but just out of curiosity, how long do Amazon's cookies stick for?

depends of niche I think, the target is not to get many clicks, but as many orders you can get.

Twitter and amazon = bad deal

Twitter + anything = bad deal. They don't want to interact, they don't want to click. They want to be spoonfed raw information with no ads, no signups, nothing. When you start interupting their play time by trying to make money your conversion ratio is going to be very small. Not saying it won't convert, but it's not like organic traffic at all.

An autoblog makes it worse (unless you did it right, i.e. no rss fed content) and then trying to incorporate amazon into it will make it much worse. Getting them to click adsense is hard too! Some days I send over 1,000 twitter views to mfa blogs and get 0 clicks, yet organic will click 10 times/1,000 views!

me too! I think something's wrong there..this cannot be true that everyone is making just a few bucks!

If your amazon autoblog makes $20 a month, consider yourself rich. The money is in the scale. Build about 200 and you'll have something.
