I am working with a friend who takes care of graphics, and I put everything together in Unity3d. I messed up a bit with my first game, because I haven`t thought of the aspect of keywords in the title of my game. I am now working on my second game that I will publish this week, and I have higher hopes for this one. I buy the source code of an existing game and reskin it. Longtime lurker here on BHW. Made an account 9 months ago but this is my first post. I've taken coding classes at school (im 18 a senior) and have a pretty good knowledge of xcode. One of my courses actually worked strictly with the program. I've really been interested in creating apps.. and then reading about a bunch of seo things and internet marketing on BHW.. it really does seem like the perfect marriage. I've been trying to figure out a path. Your thread has shed light on what I should look into.

I just wanted to say that I'm STILL working to achieve this goal!

I don't know why but I get REALLY lazy when it comes to updating this thread and I'm sorry for that. For some reason my AdMob/Google AdSense account was disabled (I discovered this a few days ago) so there are no ads on the game as right now. I'm working on getting this fixed, but I don't really care if I don't get the account back since I'm already working on adding other ads to the game. I'll use either Chartboost or RevMob. The reason why I think the account was disabled is because I had this "Pending challenge deposit verification" which I totally forgot about. (again, me being lazy). The sad part about this is that I might lose the money that was made from AdMob which was around $20 (the last time I checked).

On the other side.. Someone bought something that costed $14.99 from the shop (In-app purchase), and I'm really HAPPY about that. :clap2: I see that people will actually buy from the shop which means that I'll make a lot more than what I'm expecting to make.

Right now, I'm not even getting downloads like I was supposed to, but that is coming... Remember that I also have other things going on so I haven't been able to invest not even 10% of my time in this. So for that matter I've hired a person who's going to help me do this. I'm going to pay him for results (except one upfront payment). Yes, you can call me crazy... I guess I just like to blow my money. :dunno:

I know I'm not even close to my goal, but I'm going to get there not matter what. I PROMISE you!

It has become kind of hard for me to keep up with all the expenses because I was constantly spending money on lots of different things, but I'll try my best to give you a good approximation.

Expenses: $1,512.82 + $1,400 (Including a $500 upfront payment + other things). = $2,912.82 < :worried:
Profit : Ads: $20 - $20 = $0 :sad: In-App Purchase: $16.80
Revenue: $0

Thanks for following up. I wouldn't say I personally get things done, but I'd make sure things get done.. I guess it's the same thing. : )

Thanks for your post mate. I'm actually quite surprised by the amount of money I made from ads considering the amount of downloads I have.. So I wouldn't say the ads won't make you anything. Remember I'm going for the millions of downloads here.. And no I do not have the budget to mess with them BIG BOYS. : )

Yes, everything is going well - Except the AdMob account which was disabled : (

Now, I have 1.20k downloads only, and revenue is $0 yet. Remember I have to make all the money I've invested on this first and then I'll be reporting the revenue. : )

I can't wait until I start getting 1000's of downloads per day, and this is coming soon!

If you're making re-hashes, you're doomed to failure.
I hope you're developing new and engaging apps instead. Too many are riding off another app's glory - those apps got famous by being NEW.

did you had any objections on the code made by apple after the review process?
how many apps are you planning to launch to meet your 50k/month goal?
do you have any revenue % share goals set for in-game ads, ads-free and in-game purchases for each app?
have you considered giving your users the option of completing incent cpa offers to gain game currency/bonus/etc?

I think you have a pretty big goal but well if you have the funds to promote your games you can probably make it. good luck

So you spent around 1000$ to hire the developer and now that the app is ready you are lazy and are letting it become "old"? Sorry to say but I don't think you will achieve that goal if you continue like this, you should push the app since it's fresh. I don't think you will come to 50k/month like this.
I think you will hardly make 1000$/month out of this.
Just want to motivate you man telling you how the things are.
