Hello BHW community! I was just wondering if any of you would be back at the beginning,WHAT would you do? You (me) have 500 dollars to start the affiliate journey. What kind of steps would you take to rise to the hights? Thanks for sharing!

Buy traffic rather than try to rank via seo , You can see returns much faster.

Buying traffic is faster but if you don't know what are you doing you will lose all your money in 2 days

Take off time from work to the tune of 400.00.

Use 400 of your 500 to pay yourself for the time off.

Spend as much time as you would at work reading some of the money making section, the journey section and the the Black and White hat SEO sections.

Then make a decision and spend the 100 on something that makes sense to you from that time you spent getting educated and commit yourself to it like a man drowning in rapids trying to save his life.

What I would do if I could this ALL over again.

Step One - Testing SEO.

- Put on 12 different Web 2.0s with the SAME KW and Spin and Article you buy (Article should cost $5). Do KW research to find a Good KW to use.
- Test every 'popular' SEO strategy to see what ranks.
- Not you have a handle on SEO.

Step Two - Buy an Aged Domain + Good Hosting

- Buy a domain in the niche you ALREADY know with amazing metrics ($100 +)
- Start writing articles around KWs
- Research long tails and write about them as well

Step Three - SEO

- Buy programs to make your SEO easier
- Outsource now that you know how to rank

Step Four - Make money.

Basically, split test SEO, then get a good domain which makes SEO easier, then put up articles. You will get an ROI in no time.

Make adsense ads account. Then promote your site to people and make money.

BTB had some great advice.

I don't recommend paid traffic as an absolute beginner. It is very hard to make money from it. You are bound to lose it.

Stick to something that makes sense. Even if the returns won't be the highest you could make elsewhere (like media buying). Stick to a strategy you understand.

Use that money to pay yourself time.

Don't give up, expect to wait a long time before you "get it" and things "click."

Some very sound advice here.. Here's my 2 cents:

I jumped in head first, way too quick. I've been in this world around a year now and have seen very little return. You can NEVER learn too much before you start. Sure, there is a fine line between learning and reading forever and finally putting it into practice, but don't do what I did and jump in thinking you know everything. Take your time, learn as much as you can. Then start to focus on ONE area that you are starting to understand, and go from there. When you have a nice return coming in, start to scale your idea. Then you can think about starting new ventures and trying new things.

^^ That's some advice I was given a year ago and failed to listen to. The past few months have seen me reading and educating myself none stop. I'm now building the foundation I should have built before ever starting this journey.. Just a thought.
