I sat and thought about how I wanted to approach my posts on BHW. I want to use my presence here positively without overdedicating my time.
There are so many people on here who are looking for the small wins, which I asked about in a
previous post. We all have our own way of doing things, and some people want what they want. So I decided that I will be posting "5-minute hacks" for the guys who want to make a few dollars in a short amount of time. Whether you want to create some kind of cash flow for a business idea or make extra money for a bill, I will try to drop quick gems daily.
The Hack
If you know anything about the internet, then you know that QR codes are everywhere. Coaches use them for payment links, restaurants use them for menus, and small businesses use them to connect customers to their social media or website.
This 5-minute hack is going to show you how to create professional-looking QR codes in less than 5 minutes and sell them to small businesses for $20 each.
Step 1
You are going to figure out what type of QR code you wish to create. Don't overthink it. Just pick one and grab the link that you need.
⦁ A restaurant’s online menu
⦁ A business Instagram or Facebook page
⦁ A payment link (like PayPal or Cash App)
⦁ An event landing page

Step 2
Head over to QR Code Monkey and enter the link that you chose.

Step 3
You are going to make it stand out by adding the business’s brand identity.
All the colors used should match the business, and the logo should be added in the center. Make sure that you choose a rounded or dotted style.

Step 4
Click Download PNG for digital use, or SVG/PDF for print materials like flyers.
Step 5
This is where the hustle begins. You are going to approach the business you chose and email them.
Sample Email:
Hi (Business Name)
I hope all is well. I enjoy your (products/services/food etc). My name is (Name), and I noticed that you do not have a custom QR code for your business. I created a sample one for you so that customers like me can scan and connect instantly. I would love to talk further on how you would like me to deliver this QR code to you. I have attached a sample here so you can get an idea of what your branded QR code looks like. Let me know if you'd like me to brand it further before I deliver the final copy.
Do not hit them with a price until they show interest. Once they show interest, you will inform them that the QR code is $20
Make sure that the sample you showcase has a watermark so it can not be stolen.
Is this Scalable?
Absolutely. If you really wanted to take it to the next level, you could offer this service on platforms such as Toptal, Crowdspring, Designhill, Freeup. The great thing about QR codes is that if a target client uses a QR code they will likely need more, which will allow you to create repeat customers.
Client Acquisition /Revenue Projection
Pricing Plan:
⦁ Single QR Code: $20
⦁ Bundle (3 Codes): $50
Weekly Projection
Let's assume you average at least 5 clients a week
Singles (2 clients × $20) = $40
Bundles (3 clients × $50) = $150
Total Weekly Revenue: $190
Monthly Projection
Let’s assume you average 1 new client per day, @20 clients per month, with a balanced mix of singles and bundles:
40% singles → 8 clients × $20 = $160
60% bundles → 12 clients × $50 = $600
Total Monthly Revenue: $760
If you were to promote more bundles, making your sales at least 80% bundles, that would equate to $800/month
Get a few testimonials under your belt, and you can then up the price from $50 to $60, which would push you to $1000+/month
I've painted you a picture with a five-minute hack. Now go frame it.
