I bought a mobile proxy from SmartProxy to target viewers on tiktok in another country but once connected no websites will load and I couldn’t even download the tiktok app. I’ve tried connecting through wifi and my iphone hotspot but neither will work. I am using Potatso. Any help would be great.

Once you disconnect you are able to load things? And if that is a YES, try speaking to the support.

Yes, once disconnected everything loads ok. Support haven’t been very helpful so far.

a lot of proxys speeds can be throttled

@ffvc Are you using IP whitelisting or username password? This seems to me like access denied, basically either you not having a subscription or the IP not being whitelisted if you are using IP whitelisting

I am using username password.

can you test with for example firefox with same username password if it works(there is an option in settings to setup proxy), just to confirm that its on potatso side

I am on ios and the issue seems to be with the apple app store. Have tried downloading several apps and none will download.

Hmm, so other things work when you have it turned on?

Some websites won’t load and even when chatting to support about the issue a screenshot I wanted to upload to them wouldn’t work. It just seems to be the mobile proxy with all the problems and support haven’t been any good.

Yeah, that would be weird for the mobile phoxy to do that. If you have an option to add specific DNS, maybe trying with google DNS will help out the problem

I would try other proxy providers, when I used smartproxy, I also had similar issues. From other I hear smart proxy is good for scraping, but it seems not much else at the moment, however, that is just my experience and yours may vary

I will try another proxy company as I’ve had enough of smartproxy. Thanks for your advice.

Check ProxyWave, they have free trial for one device, they also have support (they help you to configure device)

Thanks for your help. It turned out the problem was with SmartProxy. I now have a 4g mobile proxy with Soax and everything seems to be working well.

Awesome! Thats what I figured, glad I could help, look forward to hearing more in the future on your progress!

You should residential rotating proxies, but what do you use to fake it? are you using any antidetect softwere?
I’m using 4g mobile proxy but do i need antidetect software? I didn’t know about this. I am using iphone 7.

First, try your proxy through another tool, if you still have issues try another provider.

What tool/software are you using ur proxy through atm?
Browsers like incogniton are often reliable for testing the connection and speed.

If you are only using your phone directly, from experience I can say that this does not always work smoothly. From our research and testing we found that on mobile phones using mobile proxies via VPN works most reliable. In this case the supplier gives you an openvpn file for example which you can use on the openvpn app. Idk if smartproxy offers that though.

If you suspect you're being throttled by your proxy provider, honestly, not much you can do with that other than looking for a provider who actually delivers on the speed they advertise.
