48/2*12

24*12

=288

first the brackets and then left to right because / and * are equal in order
 
my calculator is broken, it answered 219. it didn't came from Texas, it came from Beijing
 
Whats inside the brackets should be processed first so the answer is 2.
 
Out of curiosity I'm trying to google some relevant source of intel about this and I'm beginning to think there might be two correct answers. I mean two different approaches to solve this. One is PEMDAS order giving 2 and another is simple left to right order giving 288.
Is here on bhw any serious mathematical professor or something? :)
