Don't you think that in the eyes of Google that would be bad? You could maybe get away with it for some time, but eventually I think you would lose the rankings.

I mean I don't know actually, nobody knows how exactly SEO works but I think it's general knowledge that the anchors should be relevant.

No no, I haven't tested it. Just based on common knowledge.

But I will test it for sure. Got a couple of porn sites actually and some expired domains with good stats.

I'm not trying to call you out. But since you quoted me saying I'm wrong. I thought you would have some sort of data to back it up, not just repeating what everyone else think is working or not working.

Especially since I have actually tried it, and it worked.

301 power will stay for a while and then drop off, google won’t penalise you but be aware that the power won’t last long

Let's say you point some amazing 301 at your site and tou start to rank really well.

After 2 months your rankings decrease a bit.

How exactly can you know if that decrease was caused by the 301 losing "power" and not other completely different thing?

because you’re targeting a specific url, and if That drops it’s easy to see it’s from 301 I have tried it on various clients and always same results after a while it drops

Is there a way to keep the power for long ? I plan on making it a long term site so is it a good decision to 301 ?

It is safe unless domain is free from spammy links, if the domains has no spammy links pointing to it then you can go for it with content updated as you said.

If the site has more spammy links pointing then what ever content you update site will get penalty may be even after 6 months.

Really? Spammy tier 3 links can affect my money site? Have never heard of that in my life.

Aren't PBNs built out for that sole reason - making the more spammy backlinks into non-spammy link juice? I could be wrong here, not that updated in SEO at the minute.

To the others in here - buying iffy expired domains with relatively spammy backlink profiles -> 301 redirecting them to the money site. This should pass the link juice to money site, but is safe, right? I won't get penalized for doing it?

Can't you just get a bunch of 301's with something like 1$ .com domains, and then build web 2.0's and similar for link diversity?

I would say, u grow up the 70 RD site with at least 3 good pages of 1000 words each length content. Then redirect all old URLs of the site (those with backlinks) to these new URLs, then let the content and site age for couple of months.

Meanwhile, build fresh links to both sites. After few months, drop links to your money site from those 3 pages as also linkout to some authority sites.

301 can create issues. But this tactic will not in most cases.

as long the old domain is not carrying any penalties you would be fine, so make a good check before you 301
