301 Redirects - How safe ?

I've just started a site in cycling niche and posted about 10-15 articles on that. I've recently found a 70 RD expired domain of the same niche and I'm thinking to redirect that to my money site after posting some content on it and letting it age for 2-3 months.

I also don't want to lose my money site at the same time, I'm worried if I'll get penalized for doing that 301. Although I'm probably following the best practices but I'm still unsure because I have no prior experience in doing this.

My current domain RD - 40, DR- 9, ( Expired Domain )
The one I want to 301 to the money site - 70 RD, DR - 10, Price - $99

I'm planning to post 60-70 articles on my money site and will do that in about 3 months. I'm planning to 301 after I complete 50 posts.
What do y'all think ? I really want to take this site to a level it makes 5-6k a month.

I've been successful with 301's. Even the ones that are not related and that are just linked to the money sites homepage. I think people are overly sensitive when it comes to "relevancy", it just seem to be trendy to say that it must be relevant..

But this technique have been known for a long time, and it's very easy to manipulate and do. So my estimation is that Google will make this "method" less powerful soon. Although, I doubt you would get penalized - unless the 301 domain has a lot of crappy links pointing to it.

I still see it working fine, but I have been more reluctant to using it with my newest projects.

Safe if you are doing a redirect from same niche, backlinks with relevant anchor text and good amount of RD.

Those 70 rds are so great to be Worth $99? Because 10 Dr instead of 9 is very Little.. 301s are safe, else you Could penalize someone with ease.. but i don’t see the old domain so great to be Wörth it

I use a lot of 301 - just do it. Nothing to think about really.

Hasn't worked for me and I purchased +$$$$ domains.

I should've built the site out and use it as PBN and sent the link via front page instead

It has a handful of contextual links, some links from sites like yellowpages overall it's a decent domain. No spam and clean history.
It has anchors related to the cycle store and some basic cycling anchors. Should I do the 301 on homepage or make an acquired page for the same ? Do you do it from the domain registrar or .htaccess ?

I'm not good at finding EDs so buying from marketplaces is my best bet. I'd appreciate if you can help me out with finding a good one

That's something to think about. Were the domains relevant and set up before the 301 ? Btw thanks for replying !

when you guys buy expired domains to redirect to your money site do you add the new domain on search console also or do you just redirect them on namecheap?

I bought a very good expired domain recently and I just redirected it on namecheap to my money site but I still can't see the backlinks from the expired one passing to my money site

Maybe like a week ago or something...

But redirecting them on namecheap should be enough to pass the backlinks from one to another right?

Make sure you do a 301 redirect. The redirect from namecheap, the basic one, is usually 302 if I remember correctly. So make sure you're going for permanent to get the link juice

Correctly - it can take more than 30 days. REMEMBER to do the 301 correctly for both www and none if you have links for both.

I mean but if you have a porn site and you buy an expired domain with amazing links and all that but the website was about cooking before you don't want to have links pointing at your money site with anchors like "potato salad"... Even if those links are from te biggest websites in the world

Because if your website is about porn why would it be good to have anchors like "potato salad"?

Don't you think that in the eyes of Google that would be bad? You could maybe get away with it for some time, but eventually I think you would lose the rankings.

I mean I don't know actually, nobody knows how exactly SEO works but I think it's general knowledge that the anchors should be relevant.

But again, if you have proof that it works please tell me your story, would love to study your case
