301 redirecting of broken competitor links

Hey there,

i am running a onlineshop with good traffic. I just found out the some of my main competitors (DR 40+) have broken do-follow links to expired / not registered domains (missspelling in urls). A small number of these have also a moneykeyword ankertexts.

Overall i found 5 domains that are linked by my main competitors that i could register.

Is it risky to buy these domains and 301 redirect them to my website? I can't risk much because we have to pay the wages for some families.
If yes, could you recommend an alternative strategy to use these broken links/domains?

you could create buffer sites/build a PBN so you use the expired domains to create sites which in turn link to your money site.
if anything happens only these sites would get a penalty not your money page.

5 is quite pushing it imo.

I would go for a PBN + redirect. 3:2

Make sure the domains are clean before registering them.

For 5 domains I suggest to split it to PBN and redirect. Make sure the site and backlink profile are legit.
