301 redirect experiment

I snatched 3 expired domain names in my niche with backlinks from wikipedia and a few other very high DA sites. I did 301 redirects to my ney site, and my traffic has tripled within about a week. I believe a bulk of the increase I am experiencing is from direct clicks from the backlinks, as two of them are from PA 40+ pages. My ranking has moved up to from page 5 to number 3 on page one (two websites below wikipedia). I theorize that the rapid indexer I used had a hand in accelerating the climb.

I my search for more 'luck', I stumbled across of a few seemingly nonsensical domains with massive backlinks in excess of 4 million each. The backlinks are mostly from China, and the domains are mostly .cn TLDs. What jumped out at me is that they all have an authority score of over 40 on Semrush.

I am definitely getting a few of them to test out. My question is, how should I expect it to affect my money site, considering the backlinks are in no way related to my niche? Will it pass any juice at all?

I imagine with that many backlinks, there will be a LOT of direct clicks. I am also considering redirecting them a few affiliate programs (Amazon). What are your thoughts?

those china domains are usually spammed af I don't recommend you doing 301 on your money site with those domains, be careful.

That’s a nice case study but I hope you had vetted the domains for spam.

What kind of experiment is this? What are trying to achive? It's common knowledge that 301 redirecting spammed domains will tank your main website.

Looks great. Expect a huge drop in the ranks in some months anyway, unless you keep it up.

About the China thing, they have been massively linking, which obviously leads to high ratings in multiple tools. There are tools like Moz that give you a "Spam Score" along with the DA/PA ratings. Most people just stick to DA/PA without checking the Spam Score which ultimately means, that the DA/PA have been manipulated (they don't do extra checks in order to calculate that DA/PA in respect to the spammyness of the domains). There are other tools that actually check this, like Majestic or Ahrefs.

So you may disregard thos high china DA domains because they can hinder your progress.

Regarding my money site, the objective is to boost the DA and TF so that I rank better for all my targeted medium and long tail keywords. My industry seems relatively easy (film and entertainment). I have 4 relentless competitors that rank on the first page for about 12k plus keyword combinations each. Granted, their domains have substantial age working in their favor. I hope that by purchasing a lot more aged domains with backlinks from sources like wikipedia and other prominent websites within my niche, I can increase my competitive advantage. The domains I am purchasing don't have a lot of backlinks. They have a few backlinks from very reputable sources. I found 2 more good ones today. One of them is a film production company that was dissolved and the other is a TV producer who passed away. They both have a few links in wikipedia articles and some prominent news websites. Most news websites don't go back to edit articles that were published 5-10 years ago, so I am quite confident these links will stay for a long time. It is the links in wikipedia I am not sure about. The backlinks I am getting for $20/domain will probably cost $300 each if I got them directly from the source. At any rate, I am still going to throw some more backlinks at them.

As far as the Chinese domains go, I will refrain from redirecting them to my money site based on your feedback. I am still curious to find out how they will perform if I just send them directly to Amazon. I am not sure how it will look to Amazon if most of my traffic is coming from China, while I have a US affiliate account.

"related" is the king!

It's scary.
In this case, I think just select the good links redirect-301 to the money site.

Are your redirected BL shown in Search Console? Have you done sth. thatfore?
