Hello, I have an old domain that I had expired with lots of backlinks, I would like to redirect it to my money website and hope to benefit from the links.

How do I do a 301 direct.

I am on Digital Ocean.

Thanks

Search for their guideline on permanent 301 redirect. ALL hosting companies have blogs

Will it benefit my new website?

I answer to this question 5 times a week. It would be great to use the search function for the starters or go to google and google:

site:blackhatworld.com 301 redirect 2016 (or 2017)

Regarding your question. Unless the domain is strong, unless it's super niche relevant and even anchor text relevant, unless it's already ranking with some content, then no, you won't see any benefit. On the other hand, if you do everything correctly, then yes, it should work, but nobody can guarantee that, because 301 redirects do not work half as well as they used to in the past. Not to mention, even if you do everything right, you may not see any boost. And if the domain is penalized, the one with tons of backlinks, then 301 does pass the penalty.
