spammy or clean 301's with some links?Expired domain 301's still work great, I see more people starting to use them now so get it while the gettings good.
Basically PBN worthy domains?
At what point do you think that 301'ing a domain would be better instead of turning it into a PBN?

Clean niche related 301, I just look for a good quality domain to 301, its only one domain you can find more for your PBN. You just want to get all that link juice directly.
It will always be the "content is king" gurubloggercrap.
and compaiired to the 1,2k I wasted on paid ads, I can recycle nearly every € I invested into some kind of backlinkmethod. (except links to fiver gigs
)Atm, I am turning the 301 in to small sites themself.

Thanks for some really valuable insights. I already tried (and still pushing) all tactics you mentioned but 301s. This thread continue me to started testing 301s tools. Lately I pushed with some "top" Pbns and still measuring sucess (movememts are visible, but mothing revolutionary altough I invested +$500 in the lost couple of month). It is time to try someone new
