300£ a day

right so sorry for going back to this, but 5 of my friends work in a huge hospital accross from my house, The current wifi charge there is £8 per hour, so what is stopping me buying the equipment needed and having them bring it in and leave it in there rest room beside accident and emergency and watching the £££ roll in.

Would they have a giant antenna in there bag?

Can you post the model of router you used and how you configured to show a CPA offer when peoples try to connect to your free wifi? Thanks!

I only posted this message last night, not done anything since. I'm planning on getting one of the routers in this list mentioned in a previous message. The firmware mentioned before too, either DD-WRT or Tomato will let you put in a URL which could be landing page/captive portal, or I guess you could just link straight to a content locker.

£8 per hour, well F**K me!

Nothing is stopping you, WiFi is a public, unlicensed frequency. WiFi only has a short range so you would need lots of routers to cover an entire hospital. Having one huge antenna will make no real difference because the wifi antenna/card in laptops/phone won't have enough power to communicate back to the router.

You could make them all a nice new dual purpose hat to wear at work.

Depending on location, day and which time of year.

If I drive to London, certain busy bits at a saturday afternoon, i'll get more traffic than driving to your local tesco's store at a monday morning at 10AM.

As a fellow Brit I loved this quote about Tesco's :)

It is really smart idea but I think you would not be allowed to launch wifi networks on public places.. Anyway something new to learn :)

It is ok as long as you dont hijack other wifi network and use it for that

I tried bluetooth marketing and it didn't do well. I thought about doing WIFI but I figured people do illegal shit on WIFI and didn't want it to come back to me.

Saved myself $50 on a router, had a shitty old one lying around, I think I found it in the street, just installed DD-WRT!

Here is a question!

If I go into the hospital beside my house with this equipment in a bag and sit in A&E or give it to a few friends who porter around the hospital what would the EPC be do you all think?

By the way I have found an advertiser who pays me monthly willing to cap it at 300 leads to see if it works!
