300£ a day

I thought a long time; what can I do to make money online too? So tried lots of methods on BHW, some worked better than others, in the end it all comes down to the execution by the person. Not by the method, well that's my opinion TBH.

So I thought, what can I do, to make my own method, to make myself feel comfortable with it?
After a while I came up with an idea, based on stuff I've learned from my studies back in the days.
Basically it consists out of setting up free WiFi networks. It may sound boring, but what I do brings in quite a lot of money.

For example. I drive to a shopping center, set up a WiFi network there and give them a landing page like many of the legit free networks. Instead of giving them a legit one, I give them my own landing page. Sometimes it consists out of Google ads, sometimes a content locker, etc. Lots of variations I do with this.

Besides this, they have to register, like most landing pages for free networks, which gives me a lots of different mail addresses, which I use once in a while.

In shopping centers I offer them ofcourse a landing page with lots of shopping related items, so it seems legit.
But besides this, there are a lot of different other places. Used this method at some airport carparks, not far from the terminals, and supplied it with a free WiFi. Instead of serving them a shopping landing page, I offer them a travel landing page, with ofcourse the ads, or a content locker.

Up to now, it brings me about 300£ a day on average for the last 9 months.

I think it was about time for me to bring something back to BHW, the place where I've learned a lot from others. A lot of variations are possible with this method. Just let your mind go :).
but what if this place already has his own wifi system? you're not offering something new than their already working wifi connection.

What a great method! Please, someone, try this out and send screenshots of live stats (live website visitors) :). I live in a city where there is FREE WIFI almost everywhere and people have their phones with good packages. But the potential of this "method" is awfully good to make some good bucks.

That's correct. I'm not offering anything new to them. But that's not the point either, there are techniques you could use to make sure you're the only one, but I can't discuss that here since it's illegal.
Point is that people will connect anyway to a WiFi. And it's true, not all of them will connect to my network, but a lot of them will. And them people I am aiming for.

One of the thing that I like about this method is that is not related to Google. :)

Does anyone else think this all sounds great in practice, but quite simply would not work as no network is going to accept the same IP.

Yes, I have read, contact them and explain. But I'm not having it that they would have it. Maybe OP could share which ad networks would actually allow something like this.

Yes I'd like to know this as well. I'm also wondering if this is legal, if people/businesses are determined to sue, etc.

I don't think there is anything illegal about it. But we all know how fussy these ad networks are, and how they will use any underhand tactic to not pay commission. But you are supposed to say "no trust me, they are all unique", and they take your word for it.

No they won't believe you by just saying that. You've got to have hard proof. Like mac addresses, DHCP lease details and go on. If you can prove that, you're fine. But by saying just trust me, you won't gain anything. Proof it, and you're in, if you have a wellwilling person on the other side.

Hold on.... what if there are some idiots using your wifi to do crazy stuff like watching or downloading, you know what I mean, the illegal stuff... what then? Get raided by the FBI?

you can say that you forgot to turn off wifi sharing(without password) on your phone

You got to setup the afflicts from a host and make a webpage so when the user go to sign up and press submit there re direted to a website page that look like there on your wifi network page advertise a free i phone advert to earn cash ...

Maybe wont work

Use the idea to get emails

I got it , get the users to leave email then email them the url for free prize the url is your host looking like the sign up page then you can offer adsence and others

Just tell them you run a public wifi network and you're not responsible for anything. That's how it works here. They have to prove it's you, and just saying this ip belongs to you is not enough here.

So this is the deal .

Get a antenna
Get a laptop
Get software
Setup deal website with adsence

Know broadcast at the mull in car.
Let ppl join your network,
Get there email,
Get them to know verify link,
But link takes them to the website deal....

When they verify link they do that with there own credit/internet ip that why we get paid via deals and adsence....

More Blackhat technique : connect to the legit wireless network and do arp spoof to redirect all clients through your box. Then, display whatever ads. Don't know the legality of that.

Very possible, but very illegal haha. Same as DNS poisoning.

Nice idea Zehking! Very unique.

Also really like the idea proposed by J.Random Hacker to use raspberry pi's. I need to find out if there's some good offers in my country that accept multiple signups from the same IP. If so, I'll definitely try it out and report back with the statistics.

Given this a lot of thought..
So tell me what you think.

Create a captive content lock portal (I assume java and HTML? Or do you link this to your own site?) and upload to router. Do you mainly use app installs? Question, on completion how does the router know to provide access?

Get a 4g USB dongle with a huge data pack on a monthly plan (so can be used in the park / festivals in the summer), plug in to a raspberry pi, take the Ethernet out of the raspberry pi and plug in to an out door captive portal router (with huge signal strength / radius).
Power the router and raspberry pi with 12v mobility scooter battery (sorting wiring out).
Nearly mount on a sheet of plastic so it can all sit in a ruck sack and not move..

Or, how hard is adding dd-wrt and configuring a portal on a router? As could just buy a router, add dd-wrt and setup captive portal, plug in the USB 4g and whack it in a bag with a 12v battery.

Thus wifi all up and running for day 8 hours on Oxford Street..

Let me know your thoughts, on the edge of getting it all!

Op I'm going to give this method a try but I'm going to need your help because I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. I currently use my cell phone provider for wifi which only gives me 8gb a month but from my understanding that's useless right? I have a Lenovo laptop that I bought 2 years ago that I never use so I could use it for this method. What else do I need to buy because I would like to get it setup asap as I do a lot of traveling for a living? Be specific since you can probably do this with your eyes closed.

Well I would also like to know what ad networks would be fine with multiple offers from the same IP or if anyone can think of another less risky ways of monetising this. The idea itself is great but I fear the ad networks will not think the same.

Also, to complete an offer they would already require some sort of internet connection, I assume you are relying on them having their own 3g/4g connection to complete the offer before they can access your wifi network.

If I can find a way around the issues I have I can think of about a dozen places within a 5 mile radius of where I live where this could work, one of them is right at the back of my house so I wouldn't need to go far!:D
