3 Sites Dropped From Google.Ctr Theme On All

All 100% unique and readable content? (non spun?)

Do any of the blogs link to eachother? Do you have any kind of network of links?

Don't know who you're asking but for me, not spun, all unique, no links to each other, different exit links to various networks & some were even 'review' types with absolutely no links, web addresses or ads of any type. Not really anything to tie mine together, I even change my ip between going from one to another.

I used CTR themes for a minute but they just looked too spammy. My guess is you ever got a manual look you would be toast.

I'll chime in hear and say that ever sense I switched from a CTR theme (heatmap) to thesis default skin theme my CTR went from around .5% to 3%...

just my .02

I have 2 sites that were ranking #8 and #9. I switched to CTR theme last night and now both are ranking on page 4 and 5 OVERNIGHT!! it seems as if switching over to CTR Theme gave me a penalty for those two sites :(

oh let me say as well, for those 2 sites I didn't even do any linkbuilding, no blackhat, nothing. No autoblogging, and they were 100% unique articles. It was seriously micro micro niche so very easy to rank and this really sucks that both sites got put on page 4 and 5... >.<

The layout and design of the ctr is really simple.

Why not replicate it using the thematic framework? It should be simple to do.

I realized it as well, i have handful using CTR and all are in page 6 to 8. used to be in page 1 rank 3-5. be doing an overhaul tom. since i am too busy today. and update you guys if Ill be back in page 1 again.

The problem isnt the them itselfe ( well kinda)

1. Google have launched a second panda the 16-17 june and that took out most of my autoblogs
2. Many people have said that the normal layout of adsense with 1 big box in posts and a picture on the sidebar plus mayby some other ads everywhere makes the blogs drop. They just are MFA simple as that

Seems like google have found out how a MFA sites looks, behaves etc

Got around 35 blogs and 90% have dropped like a stone after April.

My thoughts on this is that its a mix of
Content
Pagespeed
Bounce rate
And interaction of social stuff

I had one autoblog with gamestuff on it for a game, it just posted spammy stuff everywhere. But on the blog a had a viral fb script that holded the visitor for atleast 15 sec before they could read.
This seems to have raised the bouncerate alot so i got good numbers on that one. But the script stoped work and i removed it.

1 month later the site dropped every day from 1100 unique only organic to 300, Somehow i feel that social google nowadays takes ALOT more in consideration when they move you up ore down in the serps.

I also have another site with the same shitty autoblog stuff that have gained alot or serp ranking after april. The difference here is that i use a theme and banner and stuff that look like a "real" site.

It takes 30 min to setup a CTR theme site but with this site it takes about 50 min. It got feature post grouped nicely etc etc

So google sees your site more then you think, i doubt the adsense theme sites are going to be strong anymore.
If you want autoblog, try to make the post like they where handmade and use a theme that look nice to the visitor. Dont think ctr all the time, the ctr will work for you as long as you have alot of visitors. People see the Adsense themes as spammy, people are learing this every day.

The only click you will get from a adsense themed site is people that cant make difference from the content and the ads.
Think if they actually wanted to click on the ads instead of trick them into click.

Any theme that is used by tons of spam sites is going to be a potential target. Structural analysis of html markup is much easier and more accurate that detecting spun text, so if you are putting up unique text, put it in a unique container as well ... probably can't hurt.

First compare the internal linking and navigation structure of the new ctr theme with the old theme. For example if your site has 200 pages, and if you had a popular post widget in the sidebar, then you will have 5 X 200 = 1000 internal links and by changing the theme and removing the widget you will lose these. Also other modes of navigation with in the site.

Address these issues rather than panicking. Don't go for MFAs, just use a 300 ad in a hotzone with in your site and that should do.

All the best

I have one site with CTR theme, but all articles are uniquely written by myself. No problems here. Only thing I dont like is that the average CPC is lower with CTR theme
