#3 In Google - 70 More Backlinks than #1 - Tried Everything

I don't think it's temporary - the former #1 and #2 where probably websites that have a bazillion different content - while he has a specific website dedicated to just that one thing - and they have a website about everything, that also talks about his topic.

That's the same situation with me, I'm #4 currently and I'm giving my best to get to #1 - all it takes is hard work, backlinking with anchor texts and PATIENCE.

One thing to note is that you mention they have X number of backlinks and you have more than that but they're ranking above you in G00gle. The backlink checkers out there that I'm aware of don't/can't accurately check G00gle backlinks only Yah00, MSN...etc. Only the site owner can accurately check using G's webmaster tools. They may actually have a million backlinks with G which explains their higher SERP placement in their search results. You're kind of mixing the results of one search engines results based on information from another search engines information.

I've even heard of some completely G00gle-centric webmasters who block the Slurp crawler so that people CAN'T check their backlinks and reverse-engineer their linking sources. If they're doing this, it may be the reason they're showing 0 links. Obviously, linking is just a piece of the overall pie but it's pretty difficult to know if you actually have more links than them or not.

try to get backlink from authority site and dont forget .edu or .gov

Unfortunately age of domain and authority are absolutely killing in Google right now.

Yes, age of domain and authority are important but when you do the things specified above you CAN NOT go wrong. the reason is very simple. an authority site with gazillion pages of content has it's strength in domain age, and overall strength of site. But what you should observe is that it is by nature static. There is nobody that is building those backlinks every day like the little guy. If you make a little site build some backlinks and then stop, you will fail. But if you build your site, start creating backlinks and keep at it, covering the wholes with fresh content, continually optimizing, you will get there.

It is just a matter of time ..
