This what GTmetrix is saying a homepage of mine is loading in.

Is 3.7s slow and need speeding up?

In the best case go for 2 seconds at least. But it depends on your site. :) What size it have?

what speed should i be aiming for guys? under a second?

Would a theme like optimizepress make under a second impossible?

I'm gonna post a job on upwork. what type of prices is the going rate to speed up a website?

Page load depends on many things.. If you have big images stuff like that. If your website's first response is under a second then it's great, but make sure you check other stuff that's being loaded. I personally like https://tools.pingdom.com and it shows everything nicely. If you have big images: https://tinypng.com

Yeah it’s slow.. You need to aim for 1 sec and also get 80/100 google page speed on desktop and mobile. It would help if you post a screenshot maybe we can give you some tips.

Some hosting don't keep your site on memory when the site is idle. This will tend to give longer page load when accessing site after a long break. On second test you will get lower page load time.

3.7s is high. Under 1s will be good.

Take a screenshot of files that were loaded.. scroll down a bit and you will see a list of them like this:

I don't really want to post my website on here.

Some of them are social media icons, some are badges/images, and a few others things i dont know what they are.

it says

36 requests
503.3kB

Is this a lot of memory?

aim for 1s. But 2s is ok. more than 3s is too much.
First look for better hosting. And use plugins like autoptimizer and w3 total cache.
If you can afford for the WP Rocket, it will give you a better optimization.

Can anyone give me a Udemy course or anything to learn.. How to speed up your website?

Also make test not from Stockholm but From San Jose :) For 500kb website I ususally get speed 0,4-0,6 seconds at page speed from San Jose and New York.

It depends where the server is not from where you test it. The closer your server is to the test server the faster the site loads.

@OP if you don't want to share your urls, hide them. We really can't help if you are not providing us enough info.
